safety - using stick-on satnav and airbags

Featured Replies

The Forester manual most specifically says you should not attach objects to the windscreen or put them on the dashboard or they will be dangerous if/when the airbags deploy.

In this case where do people mount their satnavs ?

I've always stuck mine to the windscreen like I guess 90% of people.

I would have thought that anything on the drivers side of the windscreen would have been squashed against the windscreen if the airbag deployed, not catapulted into the cabin.

Am I worrying too much ? !

I used to stick mine on the speedo cluster, always over the revs as I didnt need to see it

I wouldn't over think it, Subaru are just covering there asses so you can't sue them should something happen

James

The windscreen is too far away so I figure if I stick it on the flat area in front of the info display, then if the driver airbag hits it, it won't send it in my direction.

I can still see the display OK.
