Swoggles
Hello and yes another question from me. My fuel gauge on my blobeye shows i have half a tank after nearly 200 miles, i dont have a diesel anymore so this must be wrong. I have read about fuel sender units packing up but can the float get stuck at the top? As the needle is moving i guess one side is fine but they have 2 dont they? Also will a fuel light come on even though the gauge thinks its half full? Cheers!!!
stants
Sounds about right, mine won't move for ages then it will drop like a stone between half and quarter. It never even came on for the 1st year no matter how long I left the needle on the bottom and dared myself to drive ! Mine only has one needle in the tank as subaru & operates an intank jet pickup squirter to move the fuel from one side to the other, The float shouldn't be getting stuck unless someone has removed the pump and bent the arm when replacing it
Swoggles
I will have to keep and eye on it. I have been trying to use some fuel up to get it to move, this worked when it was over full. Gonna go for a drive later today and use some more up and hope it moves. Maybe im a tad paranoid, never had a car like this and its my daily so i want to keep in top if things before they stop working. Cheers! stants
If you really want to investagate if it doesn't move after driving more then the tank inspection hatch is easy to get at, and removing the pump is easy enough to, to be honest I cleaned the in tank needle thing on the sender but it made no difference, I bet if you drive more the gauge will go down faster than gambits leathers [emoji15]
Swoggles
I watched a clip on youtube on getting the unit out, doesn't look that difficult so i may do that. I just dont want to run out of fuel because the gauge is doing its own thing. I was thinking of filling up again and seeing how much fuel it takes, should give me an idea on the amount left in the tank
stants
Think yours is between 50-60l just be careful not to split the tank gasket, as they are cheaper from subaru us than here in uk but obviously a wait for it to get here
Swoggles
Ok i will be extremely careful, i guess subaru wouldn't stock one normally? What price difference are we talking?
