Turbo flutter/chatter

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Heard this no doubt before so sorry in advance for repeating question,

I have a PPP 2006 WRX, I've just changed air intake to k&n typhoon cold air induction, since I now get the whoosh when I change gear, nice as it is I really want the flutter/chatter more, hence the question of how do I get this ??

Sorry guys new to scoobies

Also I really want to get a few nice pops and bangs out the exhaust, it's got the Prodrive box on it, been looking at changing manifold all the way to the Prodrive back box as I like the sound of it, but if I need to change to get the nice loud pops and bangs then I will

Block of your dump valve/recirc valve. I wouldn't recommend it as it stalls the turbo and forces it to rotate backwards. There should be a few write ups online. Have a read up and look in to it before you decide it's something you want permanently.

For turbo longevity it is not recommended as above. I have heard of blanking plates with a small relief hole to take some of the pressure thru. To get pops and bangs de-cat and have a remap :-)

Scoobydoo69er or what ever his name is did it said it was fine for almost two years with no issue's before he changed his back. But 100% sure it will shorten the life of the turbo.
