October 12, 201510 yr Hi All, I've always wanted an impreza wagon so thinking to bite the bullet! Found a 2002 bugeye wagon 2.0gx with 75k on the clock, 2 owners from new - recently had new clutch and exhaust, the guy wants £1400 which I think seems reasonable? Just wondering anything special I should look out for before buying? common rust issues? suspension creaks? I'm guessing I'll be lucky to get about 28mpg from it? and will need to change the oil every 6k or so? There's no evidence of cam belt ever been changed so thats 1st on the list of jobs - local garage quoted £150 for this job... It's probably now or never for me as the bugeye wagons are getting on abit now... Thanks for any advice/info!
October 12, 201510 yr I don't think there's any major weaknesses in the n/a imprezas, just make sure everything works and do the usual used car checks. None of them give great mpg even without a turbo. I think the service intervals are 10k but it never hurts to do changes more often, and a cam belt is a must if it's overdue.
