d1s
Hi Recently picked up a 2002 Legacy Outback H6 non-runner. According to my mechanic the timing chain looks like it skipped and now the engine has seized. Can't even manually crank it. Is it possible to un-seize it? Also, what sort of damage can be expected of a the chain skipping? Bent valves? Thanks
Greenmamba
That doesn't sound good at all. I hope you didn't pay too much, if the motor's seized, repairing may be more than the car is worth.
Tidgy
All internals could be damaged, vales, pistons, rods, bearings, crank etc etc. and to actually seize solid will more than likely mean engine is totaly scrap :(
