Hi , I just bought a 2006 3.0rn .It had stearing wheel shake when I braked hard so I replaced the front discs and pads today , can anybody tell me how to remove the bottom slider pin as I think it had seized which is why the discs are warping too quickly . I tried giving it a tug with some molegrips but it didn't move . I don't want to give it too much force and end up breaking the pin . Thanks

If it's seriously stuck, may be time for new (rebuilt) calipers. If you have time, you could try penetrating spray or heat, but likely will struggle.

Hi Greenmamba . Am I right in thinking the sticking pin could be the cause of the discs warping prematurely ?

Removed the carriers today and took them to my local garage , bit of heat applied and the slide pin came out fine . Got a new set of pins to put in tomorrow so hopefully the problem will be sorted .

Good job. Did that myself a while back. Make sure you use rubber grease on the slide pins.

The pin kit came with two sachets of break grease so there is now loads in there .

Would it be a good thing to do once a year to take the pins out and re-grease just to make sure all is ok. I used to do this year on my xtrail and it seems to keep things good

That would be a good idea , only takes a while and saves a lot of bother in the long run .

I had a similar problem. I use one of the other pins to push the old one out with a few heavy taps, it did bend one though and much swearing later I got it out. Luckily had a new set sat in the garage so was ok to replace them both in the end but agree just taking them out the grease them does no harm

Think that will be a job for a weekend very soon. But woke this morning to lots of  snow. Outback performed very well.

It snowed last night but was all gone this morning :( I'm disappointed still can't go play :driving:
