I'll be getting my License soon and I was thinking about getting a 1.6 Non Turbo Impreza.

What's an ideal mileage to go for on one of them? Most I can find usually have around 100k etc on them and I don't really want to buy something I'd have to fix constantly.

Along with that are they ready to turbo "out of the box"?

N/a cars are pretty much bulletproof and as long as serviced accordingly should go on for ages,

And no they aren't turbo ready,

Cheaper to buy a turbo when the time comes as it's a totally different set up, engine, box, electronics etc

Go for a 2.0 if you can, I doubt it'll be a massive insurance hike and a 1.6 will feel underpowered with awd.

think the 1.5 / 1.6's are RWD only

I do think the 1.6 is actually RWD That's why insurance is about £2k and not more, And MartyC It's about a £1k jump for the 2.0L

@DallenWRX I highly recomend a rear wheel drive for your first car david!!! just think about what we can do to works car park

Afaik imprezas are either fwd or awd, no mentions of rwd unless modified. Otherwise they'd be a !Removed! drift contender
