it was under the boost controller pack 

Both my 97 UK turbo and the v1sti have this plug but neither of them had anything plugged into it . The v1sti did have the tmic water spray as standard but the tmic spray set up was in the boot when my brv bought it (cos it had a fmic fitted) .

I vaguely remember the water spray system had a white round plug .Maybe someone has a standard classic sti with the water spray system still operational and can confirm if that's what it's for but I'm 80 % sure that's what it's for [emoji6]

If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊

OK, not sure on v1-2, but where is your redundant cat over heat sensor taped up to ? location of your round one is in the same position as mine but mine is a slightly different shape
