W444AJD Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 Hi All, Had my hawkeye wagon for about a month now, and managed to cover 1500 miles thanks to some work trips. Getting 35mpg on the long trips at about 80mph, so all good! But there's a bad knocking noise when I make sharp left turns at moderate to high speeds, and I can feel something near my left butt cheek lol. Could this be a front diff issue? maybe the diff side gear? There is no bad noises making sharp right turns at any speed, so only left! Anyone experienced similar? How easy/awful would it be to find these parts? Would appreciate any thoughts from you guys!
stants Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 Hello, have a look at the droplinks, and suspension components on that side 1st as it's more than likely to be those before the diff Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
W444AJD Posted July 22, 2016 Author Posted July 22, 2016 @stants - thanks, hoping it's that because I assume any repairs/parts for the diff would not be cheap...
stants Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 Droplinks are a known weak point could also be worn arb bushes Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
Piggysniffer Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 And of course, these work trips at 80mph are all on private roads or abroad ..... 👍
