What exactly is a Diesel Particulate filter and what does it do??? I'm pretty sure my 1951 Grey Ferguson Tractor doesn't have one nor my 1994 VFR750 motorbike lol

It's removes all the **** from the emissions to make today's modern Diesel engines EU compliant.

Unless you are vw of course...

Think they were mandatory from late 2009 or early 2010.

Some cars made before that date attract a premium nowadays based on not having a dpf fitted

Yeah it helps reduce the soot in the emissions stuff like that. I think it's so you don't go doing this sort of stuff ;)
