I was reversing off my drive and when I pressed the brake, I hear a knock from the front, sounds like its coming from the axles. Happens every time I reverse and brake ?

Anyone experienced this ? happens in my 2016 STi

I get the same thing in my 2004 WRX, it's probably the brake pads... the clips only push them in one direction (Up towards the top of the caliper), so when you brake going in the other direction, they move slightly and hit the caliper... it's completely harmless.

If the clips on the caliper were the other way around, the knocking would happen whenever you brake going forward, this happened to me and was MUCH more annoying!

I spent ages trying to sort this with multiple different types of pads on my hatch . But it doesn't seem to be happening ATM " touch wood" I think once the pads bed in a lil bit it goes away . But as sandals said it's completely harmless

You could have a loose calliper or worn pad pins but more than likely just the pads moving normally.
