With my recent rich running issues and possible maf at fault but no cel showing I figured I'd have a go at getting some data up to monitor the voltage of various sensors. It seems the v5-v6 Impreza ecu is over complicated when it comes to it. I have got myseof a vag 409.1 cable and downloaded freessm software to test out. As far as I'm aware the cable is correct and the software should work.

So far I've managed to the software to recognise that it's connected to the car but when trying to access the ecu or you I get this error fdd7419eaa207afc8a32e053242ddca2.jpg

Anyone ever used freessm or managed to gain access to a turbo 2000's data?
