Hi I've just joined the forum, wondering if anyone can give me advice.

i have a 2012 STI and when reversing out of my drive there is a knock coming from the front of the car. I've had the bushes/track rod ends checked and can't seem to find a fault. 

Can anyone advise me on this?

Hi and welcome I'm sure someone with more ideas will reply but have you checked for a broken Spring ? Things like the top mount bolts for the struts and the drop links. Hope you get it resolved quickly and cheaply 👍👍

Hi, as Fastboy says, check coil springs, a broken one could be the cause of this.

(once had a Golf  which knocked from front when reversing due to broken front coil spring)

As another recent post, are you sure it's not just the brake pads?

As you are reversing out of your drive check cv joints aswell. They knock when on lock when they are worn

My bug eye does it its the brake pads on mine moving only does it as i reverse off drive i regularly strip front brakes down clean and lube back of pads and carrier stops it for a few months heard others do it also,but like others have said check for suspension problems first or cv joints as these can do a similar noise 😎

Is it a single knock ? A series of knocks ? Happen when going down a kerb or on the flat ?

Try going to an open space (industrial estate) and trying it in reverse ... try braking, then try steering but only do 1 thing at a time and try to rule some things out. Trouble is when you reverse off the drive there are often so many things going on you cant pinpoint when the knock is hapening.
