July 8, 20178 yr Here's my road tripping, camping bed setup for enjoying life. It's a work in progress. The rear box is separate and I keep it in full time, although it is light and easy to remove if needed. High enough for good storage underneath. The front section is removable so I can choose to use both back seats. I have carefully measures and cut the base so the bed is level and slots into place on the front seats. The headboard folds down to rest on the front seat and is solid. This means the bed is 6ft long when extended. I have done a few coats of wood protector and plan to properly paint it and felt the top. If I decide I want a bigger bed in the future I can build a second module for the left side. Super simple, light, easy and functional! Now for some adventures!!!
