Hey guys, am new to this forum, however I have a 2005 Impreza WRX, where as driving last week I completely lost 3rd gear with a bang and rattling in gearbox. I have been advised by my garage Bridge to Gantry in North Shields (hugely recommended) that I require a new gearbox. 😢😢 Looks like the car had already had a gearbox change in past also. 

 

struggling to source a decently priced one at this time of year is proving to be a huge struggle. Can anyone here help me or point me in a direction?

 

I have been told by someone down south that I can put any gearbox into my car as long as the code has VN in, is this correct? 

The code of the gearbox that came out is TY754VN2AA, However the original according to the VIN plate should be TY754VN6AA

 

PLEASE HELP AS I MISS MY WHOOOOSH
