Engine advice for a newbie

Heyllo, I'm a newbie to the forum and was hoping for some advice 😊. My Impreza GX sport 2002 needs a new engine, the body is in good nick and the brakes and exhaust recently done. Do you think it's worth a replacement engine, I've been quoted around 600?

Hi and welcome. Tricky one to answer as you have to weigh up if it’s worth it. If your happy with the car and it’s only the engine with no other issues then yes go for it.

When sourcing an engine I’d say always buy from a reputable breaker not just one advertised on eBay as you don’t know what your getting, you could end up with a worse lump than the one you have. Good luck.

Wotcha and welcome - as above, if the car is in good shape and you like it, there is value to you so get an engine for it
