1996 Justy gearbox

Featured Replies

Hey there,

I am investigating the AWD gearbox for a 1996 Subaru Justy (aka. Suzuki Swift, Cultus etc).

I have attached some pictures and was wondering whether anyone could tell me what the mechanism is that's located at the bottom left of the picture near the blue wire?

I have tried to search online, but pictures of a gearbox in a vehicle are rare and not very clear at all, with most seeming to focus on the engine.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

I would say that its the gear selector mechanism when its in the car the linkage from the gearstick will attach to it 👍

That is quite interesting, I don't recall ever seeing said configuration and feel I may need to actually see one in a vehicle.

That said, would you know whether there is a difference between a 1.3L and 1.6L AWD box?

Interesting, never seen this setup before. Would anyone have pictures of one setup in a vehicle?

Further to my previous post, this is apparently correct. Have attached some pictures to confirm this is a manual gearbox?
