Hi. My son is looking at buying a 53 plate Subaru Imprexa WRX STI with full service history. Advert below:

ALL OUR VEHICLES ARE HAND PICKED, HPI CLEAR & RECEIVE A FULL MULTI POINT INSPECTION

The price is £10,490.

It is black which is a rare colour apparently and has the EJ20 engine. I know nothing about these and welcome anyone's thoughts on this. We are going to see it tomorrow. Thanks.

Welcome, it sounds ok on paper but things to check would be make sure there are receipts for all mods and a print out of dyno runs which prove what power it has as these cars need to be mapped if any mods have been carried out, the ej20 engine is a really good engine but still needs to be looked after e.g serviced every 5kmiles, black is quite a rare colour you don't see many about, also check rear arches, rear strut towers and sills for corrosion especially if it's a uk car as it will have seen a bit of salt from winter driving, good luck 👍

As all stuartie says mate. Cheack generally for leaks and all the usual. Most importantly is the map though if the cant prove its mapped I wouldnt bother. Cause it an sti aswell check rear diff and i think the dccd has its on casing in same area check thats not leaking. For all the general subaru stuff check daryls recent post. Everythings covered there I think
