Hi all.

im looking at buying a Subaru Impreza WRX, wrx sti or a classic.

im just after some buying advise as I don’t wanna buy one with lots of hidden issues.

how many miles is too many, I’ve seen a bugeye sti with 136,000 and even seen some with over 200k on them.

Any help and advise would be greatly appreciated.

bare in mind your talking about a car thats 10-20 years old now so will have ware and tare on it. 140k miles is pretty high for the engine's in them (not that more isnt possible).

 

Prices are going up and there are alot of sheds around. What sort of budget are you looking at?

 

buy a sniff test tool. have the car warmed up and test to see if the head gasket has gone. the seller should be ok with this being done if not then see when they were done if not walk away.
