Invoice after Subaru Forester clutch repaired

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Does an invoice for a clutch repair have to state exact part manufacturer and item number and warranty length?

My clutch was repaired Feb 2020 and after only 25,000 miles failed this week...   garage who repaied it is saying 12 month warranty expired and it could have been my driving style...

INVOICE LISTS PARTS:
DUAL MASS FLYWHEEL FORESTER IMPREZA LEGA £299.00 parts cost and 3PC CLUTCH KIT FORESTER IMPREZA LEGACY Parts cost £144.00

Today garage told me they fitted Sachs parts??

Does this tally with the parts costs above?

Did they fit an inferior clutch and if so do I have a claim against them under Consumer Rights Act 2015?

Thanks for any input.

Parts cost seems about right for Sachs in 2020 .
After 4 years & 25K most warranty would be out if did have something better.
Sachs is the cheaper end option for these diesel foresters.
Clutches can be problems on these partially as diesel power output harsh on the DMF .
Only brands we use due to needing good quality is LUK or Aisin, we normally use LUK. these parts pretty much double your parts cost .
I would use this experience as education and be more fussy on parts that get used and to get warranty terms in writing on jobs like this .

Thank you for your helpful reply. It was an RAC Approved garage in Durham, a place called Boam Auromotive in Crook, Durham, England.

I had no idea of which parts were named which and the invoice gives no indication of the manufacturer or a warranty. Thanks for educating me.

I have had enough of this clutch situation on the  car now and its up for sale - how much is reasonable for a 100,500 mile Forester XD 2.0? 12 months MOT please?
