Oil Level Warning Light

Featured Replies

My recently acquired 2010 3.6 Outback has had its oil level warning light come on. The oil level is fine on the dipstick, so what do I do just take it to a specialist???

If the oil level is physically fine sounds like it may be a sensor issue, def get it to a specialist to check out whats going on.

Thanks I'm going this afternoon but I was wondering if I'd missed something obvious!

hot or cold can change the level a bit, but if its dipping correctly then theres obviously oil there :D

where ya taking it to out of interest?

Tetbury Motor Centre and would you believe I drove there with the light on right the way to switch off in their car park. They started it up and the light was out and checks showed no faults. I'm now wondering if there's some timer or something that turns it off after a period of running. At the moment the issue has gone away.

Welcome to sods law. It knew, i'm telling you it knew!!!!! lol

At least no big bill for now

I'd keep an eye on your oil level by checking it regularly just in case the sensor is on the way out and that nothing funky is going on
