How to know the trim level?

Just a question about the different trim levels of the Forester.

Back in down under I had a XS stated on the back of the rear Gate but the Forester I bought yesterday doesn't show  anything on the rear Gate. According the advert and seller she is a XC.

So how do I find out what trim level she has?

Many thanks,

If you can find out wha the options code is i'll dof my cap to you sir !

Been hunting for ages there seems to be many conflicting vews i didn't even see the trim code until i look just now.

I guess i depends on where you cars from.

Neither of those links work for me as my vin is only 9 digits long (jdm spec vin ? )

Mine must translate as

Manufacture.Subaru.

Body type. forester

Engine 5 ? 2.0L 5 speed ?

Then the serial number of the car.

If the trim levels and what bot are in the vin (uk) why have a trim & option code stamped elsewhere ?
