Can i use electrical contact cleaner to do this or will it not clear the sludge out ?

Should be ok but brake cleaner would be miles better  ;)

I've everything but, been hunting round in the man cave for ages best i've found is carb cleaner. Must have used the brake cleaner when changing the disks.
