So I finally found a 330s, Bought it home yesterday. I'm in love! Now there will be some of you who aren't a fan of the stickers, As I wasn't 100% when I first saw it. But now they've grown on me.

Anyway I don't know if this is an ex owners from here? But it's 1 owner from new.

My plans for it are..

give it a complete service,

adjust the handbrake cable,

but a Invidia N1 single exhaust (de-cat)

Japspeed or HKS front mounted intercooler,

Hks induction kit,

lower it abit more on BC coilovers or suspension kit,

don't think I'll bother with a dump valve yet.

But if any of you guys know or seen the car about let me know, as I would like to comment the last owner.

Chazz

Doing a bit of googling I found a thread on Scoobynet for your area.

http://www.subaru4you.co.uk in Newbury is pretty popular,

I'd forgotten about Len at Subaru4you. I used Len years ago on my classic for a clutch replacement and lightened flywheel fitting. Very good service although if you are waiting around there's bugger all to do in town.

Alan Jeffery in Portsmouth seems to get a few votes as well. Not heard of him before myself though.

If you don't mind the drive then Surrey Subaru Specialists in Camberly Surrey are worth the trip. They have done a few jobs on my old car and also a lot of the Surrey Scoobies members use them.

as sticker sets go, its the better sticker set to have on the hatch.

where was it from?

I can't tell you how to have the brake cable tightened. sorry :(

can tell you that when I had my standard 330s rolling roaded the other week it was at 319.4 bhp wth 359 lb/t :)

The car was from Nottingham, About a week of owning it, It started making a tapping sound from the engine, I investigated it to find there was no oil or water coolant, I did check the car before buying it, and it was all fine.. So I called up the garage I bought the car from as he said he had given the car a service before he sold it to me, There was no proof of this service though. So the car had gone 20k miles with no service, Worried. I called up Subaru for more details about the last service and they told me it was serviced in 2011, so from 2011 to 2014 it's had no service.. so why hasn't the car had a service in 3 years? I should of done this before buying the car!! but I did a HPI check to find out the car had been stolen and wrote off, in 2013. ROOKIE ERROR. So I called back the Garage told them all this, Luckily enough the guy was sympathetic and gave me a full refund for the car.So Lesson learnt, Don't buy a car without giving it a full HPI check and if it's got part service history, Look into why it's got part service history!

eek that was lucky mate still a very nice car but being sold something that was described as full service history I guess makes it very hard work for the garage you bought it from to not give a refund.

So are you back looking for another one now then ?

Yeah I'm looking for another 330s. Abit of a shame really as I already started buying parts for the car, then had to take it back. but fingers crossed the next one has no issues!

I have a feeling its the car that was on the next road to where I live. I've not seen it about since last year. If it is the same car it was sold buy the main dealer in Nottingham which was Willoughby's at Beeston. Again, if it's the same car it had had a new engine under warranty too!

You did well to get your car money back.

There is Paul666 on Scooby net selling his silver STi hatch which has had a full forge engine build with a great spec. Worth checking out!

No clue about the engine rebuild, just know the last lads name was Kevin Hayden. Car run sweet for the first week, took it out for a spin on the weekend. sat at the traffic lights then it started to Idle lumpy, then it just ran like ****, got it home let it cool down to find there was no oil or water coolant. Dunno about anyone else's subaru but this one got hot within seconds of starting it up.. I'm really the one to blame, if I did a HPI check from the start I wouldn't of bought the car. Just lucky enough to get my money back.

Will hopefully have a new one by next week, then can start adding the parts I've bought, although this has really made me look carefully when buying another..

That's the same car. He had Hayden on the side rear windows!

The dealer who sold me my 330s over at Stourbridge was the same person who sold that car when he worked at Nottingham. He told me it had had new engine under warranty.

Well that's what I thought all garages did, but Suppossibly they only did a finance check on it not a complete HPI check :/ it'll probably be back up for sale soon, so keep an eye out incase the dealer doesn't state it's been written off.

  • 2 weeks later...

So I'm back this time with Ruby the Scooby, She's 2009 model 2 owners from new. 35k Miles, full subaru service history and HPI CLEAR! Not done anything to her yet, Looking for a set of Te37 alloys in black, as the 330s alloys have a few curb marks and I can't be asked to get them powder coated, I'll keep them for winter wheels..

Anyway what do you think?
