Jaybee
Hello everyone. I am quite new to owning a Subaru and very new to this forum but but I do have an imported Forester st/b. I am looking to replace the engine, which recently overheated but do not know if the replacement is compatible. The engine code taken from the strut top of my Forester is EJ20GDW1NY. The code for the possible replacement is EJ20GDX1MY. Is there an way of finding out whether the replacement will be fine in my car? Any help would be greatly appreciated. stants
Hello, sorry to here the bad news with cooking the engine, it should be fine, where has the doner engine come from ? Without looking up the engine code for the new lump couldn't tell you if it's a uk, or jdm, you may want to get it mapped if it's a uk engine as it will be slightly less powerful than yours and the ecu may be trying to fuel it in regards to what was in there before, I could be wrong but hopefully one of our members who's done swaps before will be able to tell you more Sent from my SM-T210 using Tapatalk
