Hullo all,

The centre unit on my beloved Outback has knackered. Long story short - I was told to touch battery leads together to stop it blasting out hot air max (stuck on after clean). Checked fuses etc and nothing. It has been sent away to an 'expert' who found nothing wrong. The CD now works but driving without anything to clear windscreen is hazardous.

Subaru UK say I can buy a 2nd hand console and get it fitted as long as I have chassis number and security details from donor car OR spend £1200 on a new one....

Has anyone had a similar experience?
