  1. Welcome !! I'm a new subaru owner myself (second scooby within 2 weeks lol). Thankfully I got a sti second time round. I've had fast cars before. But none have got into my soul like this car has, I can hear it in the evening talking to me. It says "come on, there's nothing on tv, your mrs is moaning. But the air is cool and dense, the roads are empty. Come on, take me out and hear me roar" it even asks me to treat it to presents, it talked me into buying it an exhaust and coilovers within a day if buying it, I hadn't even picked the car up and I'd bought that stuff for it. And that was just after a test drive and buying the car. God knows what it will talk me into in a month ! Lol she's currently whispering about a fuel pump, a full induction kit, a new dump valve and a remap. She has mentioned a front mounted intercooler too. But at the moment I'm waiting for her new shoes to turn up. So yes she made me buy her some wheels too!!

It's almost as expensive as my mrs, but with less moaning. And I actually enjoy spending time with my subaru's family too. I'm kinda thinking about kicking her out. And sleeping with my sti ! By shhh don't tell her I said that hehehe

  2. Had that idea myself !! You can buy ready made manual versions from ratsport.co.uk for next to nothing. And comes with a fitting kit too. And you can also buy an electric version from the same place, again with all the fittings needed. I actually spoke to longlife exhausts in Bristol and they were happy to knock me up a full turbo back custom system with a electric valve in with a normal exhaust on one side on the valve and on the other side a sweet side exit !! All for £850 inc vat, and that's fitted too

    http://www.ratsport.com/PBSCProduct.asp?ItmID=9611818. Manual one

    http://www.ratsport.com/PBSCProduct.asp?ItmID=9611815. Electric one.

    Would be epic !!

  3. Welcome !! And enjoy! I'm a new member myself and I can tell you that everyone is friendly and helpful. And having been a member of other owners clubs with previous vehicles I can promise you that it's a breath of fresh air to have people like this !!

  4. The ECU will work fine but as you have increased the ability of the car to flow more air you may find it runs a little lean, the electrics should compensate but a map to suite will get you the best mixture for your car to ensure it runs efficiently.

If you are thinking about Hayward and Scott level budgets why not consider a made to measure system which would be done to your spec lifetime guarantee etc

Sounds like a good shout to me, I spoke to longlife and they were happy to make me a turbo back exhaust to my exact specification for £650 inc vat. Where as I got a quote from a tuning firm for a milltek turbo back and that was double the price. I had enquired at longlife if they were able to build my a dual system, which is what I'll get next. And that would be from turbo back, but just after the down pip they put in a valved 'Y' piece that would at a flick of a switch turn it from the normal custom exhaust to a side exit. Which I've always wanted just for the cool factor rather than anything else lol and that was for £850 inc vat. Well worth it just for the window shattering sound lol

  5. I can only apologise for my wheel ad in the parts for sale section. I made sure I'd listed it as correctly as I'd possibly could, and although I knew it was specifically for a subaru, it was going to be sold to fund the improvements in my spec D.

I know that not every members family or friends all own subarus, I just thought that someone might be interested in them for another persons car or something. Then I get to but more shiney things for my prezza.

Again I'm sorry, no offece was intended on the deletion of the post. No harm was intended

  6. Here's a pic of before and after. I I'd take one from the same angle. But about 30 seconds before I dropped ,y phone and cracked the !Removed! screen (wounded!) so it came out blurry.

On a positive note the car now sounds like a scooby should. With a lovely burble at tick over, and that lovely subaru warble when it's moving. Then turning into a battle cry when you boot it ! And the hks panel filter has allowed a little more turbo noise to come through too. Thanks to the spec D's extra little bit of sound proofing it doesn't make it a horrible place to be with a noisey booming exhaust coming through. All in all, very very happy. I can understand now why you all love these cars so much, I've really clicked with it. And man oh man my little man adores it. I know I didn't get a before or after video of the exhaust, I will video my 20 month so you can all see what he says when I ask him what daddy's car says. You will love it, I promise

  7. The exhaust came today, gonna see if it can get it slapped on later (ill take some pictures too) on a positive note I will have the old back box thingy which is a proper STI part. I know most people won't be interested in the centre section. But for someone with a WRX a genuine STI back box might be nice, it's got a pretty large bore on it, so with decats etc it would probably sound good.

Oh and as I got the othe cat back system it was slightly cheaper so I got a HKS panel filter to go in too !!

  8. 19"x8.5" 5x108 & 5x112 pcd, et45 calibre vintage. Fitted with 235/35 19 Avon ZZ3. I paid over £1300 a month ago. They've don't at most 75 miles. Both wheels and tyres are as close to new as you can get without being new lol I need these wheels gone to pay for scooby parts as I don't have the car that they were fitted to anymore (I part X'd it for the scoob, and a car for the mrs) I'm happy to accept reasonable offers to get them gone quick

  9. I hope I'm a cool dad like you guys had. My dad would take me out all the time. To boring **** things lol. And he used to buy me model planes all the time too, I used to think wow my dad really loves me buying me stuff like that all the time. But now I know he was proper bored all the time but if my mum knew he was buying those for himself she would of gone nuts. But because it was 'for our lovely son' she was fine with it. Crafty old git hehehe

  10. Yeah, here 5x114.3. And over the circumference it's only a 1mm difference over the whole thing. Which in theory would be taken up by the 'wobble bolts' I'm just dubious as to if this is a good idea or not. I've done a lot of reading and there's guys who do drifting etc that happily use aftermarket 5x112 wheel on they're cars as they go through tyres like my boy does through nappies. Those wheels would get a real pasting with all the forces through drifting so in theory it might be ok. But I guess the question is do I want to risk it.

On another note and back on he posts subject, I changed the exhaust from the out of stock milltek cat back to the scooby clinic one and then with the price difference (I'd already paid) I got them to chuck in a HKS panel filter

  11. Cheers everyone, I picked up my STi Spec D yesterday. And after driving it, it's a whole other world compared to my wrx that I had for a week after the garage place sold me the duff wrx. It's literally like a whole other car !!

It's better in every single way, I wish I'd gone for the spec D straight away instead on penny pinching and getting the WRX
