  1. Parts now sourced please close
  2. looks like its had a hard life that subaru if im honest, there is better ones out there.
  3. Good question, as its a close deck block ive gone ahead and had it split, just awaiting martins verdict. its was put togther with some form of sealant and had no gaskets whats so ever. Rs is waiting to be welded, was getting done this month :( so thats now on hold. i just need V5 heads and a few other parts as he has used wrong bolts and stripped the threads on the heads. Bores arnt too bad one is pitted so going for a +1 on all 4. Grade on engine is B yet he has put two A pistons in the car. Here are some pictures of the block itself. didnt bother with the heads as there a complete rightoff. As such i need x2 Heads off a V5 TD05 ( two good condition TD04's For sale) STI intercooler. and a few other parts.
  4. As title suggests. Needs to include cams and covers and all parts cheers.
  5. im going for 340, I may be able to salvage a few things off my existing one as its the rare close deck block, and all ones near me are 500+ :(
  6. Yeah, the guy showed the pictures of the engine as well, ah well **** happens I guess.
  7. a little trick, if its armed turn the key to full ignition and press unlock, doesn't set the alarm of and turns the alarm off and ignition on.
  8. Well I took the dreaded call off Martin at Scooby services today, and its not great. The car originally went in last week for the usual rocker cover gaskets replacing as it was weeping, but upon inspecting this we realised that there was a few nasty's, The pulleys were on at an angle and it was weeping from cam seals and head. Martin gave me the dreaded look and I knew it was going to be bad here on in, I gave him the go ahead to open the engine and find out what else is damaged. Well here goes, x2 pistons are out of the wrong Subaru x2 Exhaust valves are damaged Cams are ground down due to wrong bolts been used crank is damaged piston rings are damaged one head needs replacing as its wrong. Exhaust full of holes. list really does go on, im mad at the previous owner for thinking he could just pass it on to me and for this I really hope karma bites him back. I'm going up on Saturday to inspect the damaged and at the moment just feel like breaking the whole car and having done with it and ive lost full interest, however Martin tells me its a great shell with lots of potential and then I go around in a loop looking for Engines out of an STI lol. Guess its something to sleep on, either way I wont have my car to drive to the shows but it will be in the garage already haha.

Your very welcome :) glad to hear that it can be repaired.
  10. tbh everyone raves about Adrian flux but admiral have come trumps for past 4 years for me, same thing happened with my RS turbo, Adrian flux told me to wait till im 21, admiral said 1200 :)
  11. why don't we make one ?
  12. what ecu are you running for anti lag ?
  13. Ash007ks replied to Diz's topic in General Subaru Chat
if you warm the bumper up it should go back to its original state, has it damaged the cross member underneath ? good luck :)
  14. sky were rubbish for me personally, im with admiral and £600 at 23 isn't too bad I would say, but all comes down to postcode lottery and thefts of the type of vehicle in that year.
  15. Hi matey, no offence taken at all I should have merely been more clear with my original post, Yeah Recirc is on as standard and is fine for standard boost but mine is running shy of 18 psi and have been told if I chuck a recirc dump valve to get chatter the turbos life will be greatly reduced, so yeah on standard boost its fine but its not recommended on uprated boost figures :).
  16. ok so before mine was very poorly I got these results, now bare in mind mine has been remapped on Shell but still I think the figures speak for themselves. Super Unleaded. Price paid £1.45 (before price cuts) Shell Ul, £20 = 88 miles BP Premium, £20 = 68miles Tesco Premium , £20= 75 miles. Now some of you will say did you vary your driving speeds etc to make it a fair test and tbh I drive pretty much normal all the time, Bp seems to work worse in my car and did in the previous WRX as well, so for now I think ill stick to shell or Tesco if needs be. Also for those that are really MPG concerned, why not get a remap or one extra get a multiple boost controller with low and high boost setting ?.
  17. book value from what I got mine valued at is £1200-2000, but private I would say advertise it on all the Subaru websites to get the interest, and definitely avoid brezking for parts but if you do let me know ;)
  18. I'd do a snippet of the spec and probably a price, this will probably gauge more interest.
  19. That's fine, for those wanting the End of the month that's fine by me. I shall confirm with work and see when im off, however ill be Scooby less as its currently sat in Scooby services with its engine in bits.
  20. Yeah ive had to start using that instead, its really having a nightmare with this forum. Maybe its a bug ?.
  21. Looks just like an EVO X crashed into last years model. Styling has suffered as its gone more mainstream and less away from Rallying, less aggressive lines, more bubbly here, less giant spoiler there, however I think since Fords Rs and the other makes have started bringing aggressive back Subaru should hopefully give us something decent, however I hate to say it , I dislike that the new model, but then again I liked the Bugeye and that was hated haha. As for the the 0-60 times, are they joking ? 5 secs what is it made out of gold ?, I wouldn't expect many to be coming to the UK if im honest, as Subaru said they were pulling out most markets in the UK due to poor sales. £30k is too much as well when you have better cars in that price range. I'd rather it have a lot less toys and be say £20k then it would be worth buying.
  22. 340 miles on a full tank. usually 28-34mpg depending on traffic conditions, however Subaru seems to love long distance motorway journeys.
  23. Your welcome, for some reason on windows 8 this website wont let me copy and paste if I use I/E but if I use others it does, however I had already written the post atleast 3 times haha.
