  1. I think you have an issue that isn't normal so should get it checked under warranty. That isn't normal operation for a Subaru in daily use.
  2. Nice, welcome.
  3. I believe it is around £1400 for a Subaru LED headlight (not including labour to fit), hoping mine lasts the time I have it...
  4. HI and welcome.
  5. Mapping is usually carried out for performance to improve the response from the engine or power output. The ECU (computer managing the engine) programmes how much fuel is put in, timing of the fuel, spark timing, airflow etc. etc. to keep your engine running efficiently. The programme managing this can be altered (re-mapped) to change any or all of these parameters in managing fuelling to the engine. Some claim improved economy but in my opinion this is minimal and may just be the computer reporting false better economy due to the changes and not real life fuel savings. I would doubt you would ever see the returns to pay for the remap if that is your main reason, but I'm sure others with more knowledge than me will have a view.
  6. This is purely down to taxation changes by the government in 2005/2006. They put an additional (green) tax based on Co2 output of the vehicle to try and reduce Co2 emissions through taxation, but didn't make this retrospective. So you may have an 05 car taxed annually at £300.00 but the exact same car registered in 2006 was taxed at £500.00. This has never changed which is why older large engine cars pre-2006 are usually lower annual road tax. Co2 is only one part of the exhaust fumes and it has since been decided there are other issues as harmful (or more so) such as particulates. Euro emissions certification takes in these additional harmful bits and compliance has been stricter with every change in levels. The ULEZ scheme uses these Euro compliance standards as the basis and not the Co2 levels that is used for road taxation purposes. I hope this makes sense.
  7. UK Subaru say sealed for life, but other countries Subaru recommend changing the fluid, Doesn't make sense.
  8. Hi
  9. Just wondered if anybody has done the most recent stereo/satnav map update from Subaru? I got an email saying a new map update was available from Subaru (I get them free for the 1st three years on my Levorg). The update also included a system update as well as the maps. Since the update I have been having issues with Android Auto. Every time I connect my phone it says there is an issue with Android Auto, Disconnect and reconnect device. I sometimes have to plug my phone in two or three times before it works ok and the Android Auto function becomes available. I tried the wife's android phone and it is the same, so not the phone. Bit of a pain, I am curious to see if anybody else has done the recent map update? Thanks Andy
  10. Great car in my opinion and there is very little reports of issues on all the forums. So if they don't break they are not expensive to fix. CVT takes a bit of getting used to, but if you don't want to floor it all the time it is far more relaxed than my last Audi A6 with a seven speed DGT gearbox. ☺️
  11. Nice one, glad it worked out for you. Andy
  12. According to Subaru it is sealed for life unless you have harsh driving conditions (there is a list in the owners manual/service book). However this short video is worth a watch in my opinion. I tow with mine so will be getting the fluid changed.
  13. Just to let you know, my 2021 Levorg came complete with a jack and tools in the boot from new, so you just need the wheel. I know lots of makes don't even put a jack in when you have the glue and compressor kit.
  14. Hi, hope you find a nice motor.
  15. I put a full size spare in my Levorg boot. AS they use the same floor pan I guess it should fit. Double check the sizes, but I found the wheel off a Mazda 6 sport was exactly the same size. I picked one up with good tyre for £40 all in from Ebay.
  16. Hello there.
  17. Have they tried the remotes at the garage away from your home location? I was once in a location where I parked up but couldn't lock or unlock my car. I was working at a petrol station and the operator said other people had the same issue (and two people had to get their vehicles towed away). Working with the site we turned equipment off until we traced the fault to the car wash. This must have had a fault on either the wash controls or the radio system talking to the kiosk. Some kind of signal from it was blocking remote key systems for vehicles. Hope you get it sorted soon. Andy
  18. I have had this flash up a couple of times on my Levorg (2020). It has done it again since but I have just ignored the warning as it seems a bit spurious. Still using the keys and no further messages, so in future I will just leave it until it does it more than once before changing.
  19. Thanks for the update, good to know what it was.
  20. Probably for some kind of dog or luggage net. I don't see why they can't be removed. They are not part of the original structure.
  21. HI and welcome
  22. Welcome, I'm sure someone will be along to help soon. :)
  23. Hello and welcome
  24. I had an issue with my Levorg with the power steering stopping working with a clunk. Turned out to be a loose connection to the battery. On the positive connection there is the main post connector with thick cable and then a smaller cable coming off via a 10mm stud and nut. My fault as I was wiring up my tow bar and was going to use the 10mm stud to connect my 12v supply, but then saw it was protected by a built in fuse (so changed my mind as I didn't want to risk blowing this fuse). After fitting the tow bar wiring my power steering kept cutting out. That is when I found I had left the connection to the smaller wire loose and it was making and breaking. Hence I found that this wire from the battery is for the power steering supply. It must take a fair bit of power if they have given it its own power direct from the battery terminal. So I think previous comments on low battery power could be the right direction for you. Hope you get sorted soon. Andy
