  1. That's not bad at all really as a club chipping in if get enough going could spread the cost.
  2. Well if we get enough interest might be there. [emoji3]
  3. Is it you that goes every year matt ? I know someone does said it was good lol
  4. Hi welcome to S.O.C And as said above good friendly bunch most of the time :D And we have female members here Diz, BoofleGem, Select just to name a few :)
  5. Hawkeye 2.5 litre STi from 2006 – 2007 …. In std form they are 265bhp give or take and have boost at about 1 bar peak dropping to about 0.8 bar at the top end. so… choices .. (all based on using vpower) 1. Keep the car std but just remap for more oomph and better fuel economy. A full custom remap will bring boost in much earlier and hold higher boost levels for longer but the map will be geared to running much more efficiently ( which is also more economically) as it wont be possible to push too much boost with both cats in place. Typically a Green/K&N/Cosworth air filter and a backbox are fitted at this stage but not essential – the backbox just adds some burble to the quiet hawkeye exhaust. With a custom remap on the standard car typically this would get the car to around 310-320bhp with significant torque improvements. 2. Sports cat in downpipe – plus remove centre cat A full custom remap will bring boost in much earlier due to the lower back pressure and hold much higher boost levels. The remap will also aim to get it running much more efficiently ( which is also more economically). Typically a Green/K&N/Cosworth air filter is fitted at this stage (on top of the sports cat downpipe and exhaust system). A walbro 255 fuel pump is highly recommended. It is also advisable to change to NGK 7 grade spark plugs at your next service. This would get the car to about 340 – 350bhp but a huge boost in torque figures in the mid range. 3. Fully Decat Exhaust The low back pressure from removing all the cats reveals the true characteristics of the boxer engine and really sets the 2.5 free. A remap is needed to bring it under control and stop overboosting that will happen enormously with the 2.5 engine. The remap will bring boost in as smooth as possible and most likely get full (and higher ) boost at around 2700 rpm and hold higher boost right through the rev range. The remap will also aim to get it running much more efficiently ( which is also more economically). Typically a Green/K&N/Cosworth air filter and possibly a 3 port solenoid are fitted at this stage (on top of the decat downpipe and exhaust system). This would get the car to about 350-360bhp on the std turbo but a huge boost in torque figures in the mid range and transform the way the car drives on the road. I remember this stage well on my own and it is a fantastic car to drive on the road. A walbro 255 fuel pump is essential. It is also advisable to change to NGK 7 grade spark plugs at your next service (ILFR7H). 4. 350bhp – 400bhp You may be one of the lucky ones and have a car that wants to produce power with the std turbo – the VF43 on the std car can get to around 360-370bhp tops but if you want to get to up closer to 400bhp there are a number of turbo options and rather than list them all here – gimme a shout and see which of the many turbos around could fit your requirements. There are lots of suppliers of turbos and they are changing all the time. The car’s engine, gearbox and clutch (just) can cope with this power. It is adviseable to fit a larger diameter MAF housing by way of a good quality cold air induction kit. 5. Getting to over 400bhp The std EJ257 STi engine has been taken over 400bhp but really it is adviseable to swap the cast pistons for some forged pistons at this stage. Conrods would also be a worthwhile step if planning on revving higher than the current 6900 limit. On top of this, there are clutch options, fmic, headers, up-pipe and lots of other items to consider such as extra fueling. It can be very expensive step going to over 400 bhp on the 2.5 and if for the road I would say that it is not worth doing it. If you do decide that 400+ is ‘needed’ (lol) get lots of advice beforehand / look at similar cars that run over that level and decide whether you really want to chase the big numbers as it becomes a diminishing return for the money outlayed. In most ways it is just as expensive going for over 500 as it is over 400 so you may as well make that step I did – it is fun for sure Anyway … hope that is useful. 6. In std form they are 220bhp give or take and have boost at about 0.9 bar. The boost profile in the std map is pretty tame and doesnt come in til 3500rpm assuming the car is std and starts to tail off from this low level at around 4500rpm. 1. Keep the car std but just remap for more oomph and better fuel economy. A full custom remap will bring boost in much earlier and hold higher boost levels for longer but the map will be geared to running much more efficiently ( which is also more economically) as it wont be possible to push too much boost with all 3 cats in place. Typically a Green/K&N/Cosworth air filter and a backbox are fitted at this stage. This would get the car to about 250-260bhp 2. Sports cat in downpipe – remove centre cat A full custom remap will bring boost in much earlier due to the lower back pressure and hold much higher boost levels. The remap will also aim to get it running much more efficiently ( which is also more economically). Typically a Green/K&N/Cosworth air filter is fitted at this stage (on top of the sports cat downpipe and exhaust system). This would get the car to about 270bhp but a huge boost in torque figures in the mid range. 3. Fully Decat Exhaust A remap is needed to bring it under control and stop overboosting. The remap will bring boost in as smooth as possible and most likely get full boost at around 2500 rpm and hold higher boost right through the rev range. The remap will also aim to get it running much more efficiently ( which is also more economically). Typically a Green/K&N/Cosworth air filter is fitted at this stage (on top of the decat downpipe and exhaust system). This would get the car to about 280-290bhp but a huge boost in torque figures in the mid range to around 360 lb/ft and transform the way the car drives on the road. A real STi Killer this one !! A walbro 255 fuel pump is advisable but not 100% essential. 4. Getting to over 300bhp A lot of people want to do this, it is a nice bhp figure for the pub afterall. So .. how ? The std TD04 turbo will not do it unless you are on a dyno that reads very optimistically. It is very easy to do on the 2.5 wrx with only a turbo change really needed to do it. The ideal is the VF43 off its bigger brother STi version. There are many many choices of turbo for this VF30, VF34, VF35, VF43, VF48, TD05 16G, TD05 18G etc etc but all of these will need a couple of other changes to the car before hitting the mark safely. – Walbro 255 pump – the hawkeye WRX TMIC is very good so you wouldnt really gain anything from upgrading to the STi TMIC. It is also advisable to change to NGK ILFR7H spark plugs. There is a lot of info around about the different turbos and what they are capable of – the VF43 from the hawkeye STi makes the best upgrade in my opinion at the moment and should hit a nice safe 340-350bhp. The VF30 makes a great upgrade too. This is pretty much an ideal level for the WRX keeping it within the capabilities of the engine, gearbox and clutch. Some other info: – a vent to atmosphere dump valve will not improve the performance but if you must fit one for the sound then stick to a good make – forge have always been good from what I have seen. (Baileys are less so) – an induction kit will most likely not improve performance as the std airbox is very good. If you do want more induction noise then go for a cold air induction kit such as the K&N typhoon where the filter is located away from engine bay heat. Anyway … hope that is useful. 7. 2.0 litre STi from 2001 – 2005 …. In std form they are 265bhp give or take and have boost at about 1.2 bar but this varies according to model. The boost profile in the std map is pretty tame and doesnt come in til 3500rpm assuming the car is std. so… choices .. Typically a Green/K&N/Cosworth air filter and a backbox are fitted at this stage. With a simple remap on the standard car typically this would get the car to about 290bhp (blob eyes may make slightly more) 2. A walbro 255 fuel pump is essential. It is also advisable to change to NGK PFR7B spark plugs. This would get the car to about 320-340bhp but a huge boost in torque figures in the mid range. 3. Fully Decat Exhaust The low back pressure from removing all the cats reveals the true characteristics of the boxer engine. A remap is needed to bring it under control and stop overboosting. The remap will bring boost in as smooth as possible and most likely get full (and higher ) boost at around 3300 rpm (depending on turbo surge point) and hold higher boost right through the rev range. The remap will also aim to get it running much more efficiently ( which is also more economically). Typically a Green/K&N/Cosworth air filter and possibly a 3 port solenoid are fitted at this stage (on top of the decat downpipe and exhaust system). This would get the car to about 330-350bhp but I have seen them up to 365bhp on the std turbo but a huge boost in torque figures in the mid range and transform the way the car drives on the road. A walbro 255 fuel pump is essential. It is also advisable to change to NGK PFR7B spark plugs. 4. 350bhp – 400bhp You may be one of the lucky ones and have a car that wants to produce power with the std turbo but if you want to gtee over 350 there are a number of turbo options and rather than list them all here – gimme a shout and see which of the many turbos around could fit your requirements. There are lots of suppliers of turbos and they are changing all the time. The car’s engine and gearbox can cope with this power well. 5. Getting to over 400bhp The std STi engine has been proven to up to 450bhp but it can be an expensive step going from 350 to 450 so again get lots of advice beforehand and decide whether you really want to chase the big numbers as it becomes a diminishing return for the money outlayed. Some other info: – a vent to atmosphere dump valve will not improve the performance but if you must fit one for the sound then stick to a good make – forge have always been good from what I have seen. (Baileys are less so) – a FMIC is not needed at this stage but can be a good improvement on the STi tmic when above 350 – the sti tmic can support up to 400 ish bhp though for road use. – an induction kit will most likely not improve performance as the std airbox is very good. If you do want more induction noise then go for a cold air induction kit such as the K&N typhoon where the filter is located away from engine bay heat. It may be that the time you ‘need’ to change to an induction kit then a FMIC may be being fitted so it would need to be one that works well with your chosen fmic. Anyway … hope that is useful. 9. I agree I think somethings are better off not said let's keep it friendly :D But back to the Alloys I think they look smart :) if I had the the bucks I'd have them too :D
  10. Oh ok :D Got ya just the way I read it sounded like you was talking of a club yearly meet :D
  11. I don't mean as a main club event/yearly meet mate. I mean for club stands :) So can make sure we have payment forms up and don't have disappointed members like say with Japfest Wingnut and a few others was left disappointed partially my fault thought we needed 10 cars only needed 5 :(
  12. Right I know it might seem like us Mods just sit around doing nothing ;) But we was talking about all the car shows and how many there is. So we're after an idea to which ones members would like us to go to for 2016 and the future, to save on disappointment of not having enough members to attend event's. So starting a list to vote on of some of the main events.
  13. If she's like my missus she understands it's like having a sick pet dog or child [emoji1]
  14. I like how you say might. That mean you will [emoji1] [emoji106]
  15. There just stickers you can get them without and the silver bits are support brackets mate.

  17. Only seen the stuff on eBay still £75 though [emoji17]
  18. Yeah wasn't sure myself but if you're camping could have a mini set up. And no worries glad it got there. Got mates and stants nicks and Steve to post next and maybe ants
  19. Looks nice on the picture :)
  20. I'll text Boots who will be there he has the flag and stuff. :D I thought he'd have been on by now sorting out camping and stuff :)
  21. Nope I'd be the same, I'd go as far to say I wouldn't even want to be at center parcs until I'd got the scoob back
