  1. Morning, Anyone suggest a good roof rack for a 2011 Legacy? it's the type with the small flaps that lift up and then the rack is bolted onto the threaded parts below. Wanted a Thule, bought the bbars and the clamps but then couldn't source the correct 'fitting kit' anywhere. need an alternative cheers
  2. anyone got an electrical diagram for the 2.0 litre?
  3. So, removed the throttle inlet snorkle. turned on ignition. Throttle boddy whines, sounds like electrical pain. use a lump of wood on the accelerator peddle. Throttle opens. Still whines, not consistent. Touch the circular disc that rotates and its vibrating at some sort of hi pitched frequency. My mind says that with the engine off i should have a steady position and no noise. Hmmm
  4. don't suppose you have a few pictures? if it's just a threaded section with nuts that would be quite doable on the lathe.
  5. Fitted the other AVCS valve, small improvement but not perfect 189.39 +VAT (20%) GBP
  6. Need to make something, will take me a while but will update when/if i make any progress. Any folks got a picture of the item fitted? Any folks got the kit for sale? cheers
  7. Got a reply from a Thule re-seller in the UK, it's out of stock, obsolete, gone. What a bugger
  8. Hi, Trying to fit a roof rack, went onto the Thule page and see it's a Rapid System 753 kit. Bought this and some Thule square bars but it's like i need something else. Checked with Thule UK and they don't seem to know. Checked with Subaru dealer also and they say it's not a Subaru part that bolts on, Anyone out there have any ideas?
  9. Yeah, there's twin AVCS, doh, off course. Changed one (pasenger side UK) and made a hell of an improvement. Engine Warning light now out. Drives so much better but........not perfect, suffers from kangaroo petrol a low load/revs. Removed the 'dud' valve, ultrasonic cleaned it, it was a bit sticky. Put it in to the drivers side and immediately was **** again. Replaced the orginal in that side.Think i'll need to buy another one to get totally sorted. Gave up wasting time on the 'bay and got genuine from local delear
  10. UK Hanynes Manual arrived in the post................. No 2.0 litre non-turbo information in it arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Does anyone know where i can find this? i've looked everywhere and nothing includes the 2.0
  11. Haven't had a chance to work on the car for a while. Back home soon. I have had the pleasure (?) of banging my head against a brick wall trying to find relevant service / manuals while i've been away. The 2.0 single AVCS is a difficult beastie to find info on, just my luck
  12. Gonna try this next. After that i think it's intake cam sprocket?
  13. Swapped the coils/plug caps on units 2 and 4. Used SureFire that were supposed to be 'good' and instantly developed a missfire on 2 and 4. As the coils removed looked ropey i bought 2 used but good coils from the bay. Fitted and the missfire went away again. 2.CHECK INTAKE OIL CONTROL SOLENOID LH. Check the intake oil control solenoid LH. Oil Control Solenoid > INSPECTION Is the intake oil control solenoid LH normal- Diagnostic Procedure with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) > DTC P0018 CRANKSHAFT POSITION - CAMSHAFT POSITION CORRELATION BANK 2 SENSOR A
  14. Cambelt was changed. Timing was ok but tensioner was starting to look a bit dodgy so that also got changed. Still bag of !Removed!. Advised to do plugs and/or coils next..............
  15. The fault code attached, P0018, if that means anything to anyone
  16. The 'snorkle' that attaches to the throttle body, from the air filter, was creased and partially folded over/rolled. Not a full on air leak but a possibility. The throttle body itself was filthy, very black and oily. Is there a parts diagram available somewhere ? Did the idle re-learn, marginally better,,,,,,maybe. Plugged OBD in and ohhhhhhhhhh There's a difference or error in camshaft position relative to the crankshaft...... at best thats a stretched cambelt It's getting changed at local Subaru Garage (£345 which was reasonable i thought) on Tuesday, fingers crossed
  17. Cheers Justin, I'll maybe have a look round the neareby scrappys or the bay of plenty for some replacements. Didn't get a spare with mine? normal? looks like theres space but all the poly molding etc is set up for not carrying one. Know if it was an age thing or model? would like a spare rather than repair kit
  18. Anybody know the correct sizes and a source for steel wheels? Something like " VW Golf 2010 has the same diameter, stud patern and offset" would be ideal Good winter tyre recommendations?
  19. Hi Just bought a Legacy 2.0 petrol with fresh MOT but got it delivered and it idles like a ******. The fuel level light was on so i filled with fuel, i've gone through an 'idle re-learn' procedure which started well , cold engine, but then got worse and worse. I'm thinking it's the throttle body needing a good clean. Besides idling it runs really quite well. First Subaru, i'm otherwise impressed. Going to clean throttle, change plugs and leads. Any advice. 108,000 miles, no record of cambelt change............ whats the going rate for that at a Subaru garage? ta Milky
