When you are used to driving modern cars and hop back in the 25 year old Impreza at night, its lights do seem very dim and everything else is blinding me. I assume the Outback is passing its MOT? Have you parked it facing a wall at night to look at the beam pattern? Is there lots of light bleed above the beam cut off?

My only fob has, this weekend, given up unlocking my UK turbo. Its a GT system (Getronics?) I think they were Italian and aren't in business anymore. I'm thinking that my best option is to get a mobile auto electrician out to strip out the old system and replace it with a new one. I've had a look back through about 7 years of threads for this question coming up but it hasn't come in that time. Is there anything to choose between the alarm systems available? As long as it is Thatcham category 1 will it do the job and be equal in the eyes of insurers? Any system recommendations please? Thanks, Barry.

Hi, I've just signed up although I've owned my Subaru Impreza Turbo 2000 since 2008. Unfortunately (due to work and life) it was off the road for nearly 10 years before I got it back on the road just over a year ago. I still have a lot to do to it but for the occasional local use it gets, none of it was urgent. However, I've come to the conclusion I need help and advice. So I thought I'd join up to a few forums and see how busy they are, if there are people about to offer advice and if the club is worth signing up to. The car is a standard (apart from the back box that was on it when I bought it) GC8 UK turbo on a 2000 X plate in Mica blue, I haven't modified it at all and I still love driving it. I'll include some pics from just after I bought it as they are the only ones I have to hand with the number plates disguised, I put it back on standard 5-spoke 16"s shortly after I got it.
