  4. Not only is it the paint code but there is only the one mix so they match should be good.
  5. Just noticed that on Monday the Wheeler Dealer team are buying and sorting a Subaru Impreza WRX - 6pm. Don't know if it's been on before.
  6. Well I picked up the SVX yesterday and drove it home 150 miles (it was only 100 miles TO the location, which gives you an idea of what I think of the car) through the rain so will not post any pictures of the outside, but here are a few of the interior and engine bay for those who have not seen an SVX up close: Drivers view Rear seats Passenger side 3.3ltr flat 6 Will clean it up over the weekend and post some pics in the gallery. Have a great Bank Holiday weekend Peter
  7. Hi Mike, your car looks very nice, I collect mine, a '93 model, on 1st May. I understood that the last batch of cars were all solid red without the contrasting roof. I have looked at about 20 over the years but never seen a solid silver, just the run out reds and a pearl black. You will find the build year at the floor end tag on the drivers side seat belt, that might give you some direction. Peter
  8. Well I bought one over Easter but can not pick it up until the 1st May. Posted a couple of pictures on my other thread. What we need is a Midlands meeting.
  9. Have looked at about 9 since christmas. Not bad considering there are only about 70 still on the road (+ a few on SORN). Will have to get all the cleaning kit out then post some more pics.
  10. Well after many months I did a deal on Good Friday to get my SVX. Black over Burgundy, my preferred colour mix. It's a 1993 car with 67,000 miles and good history. Not taxed at the moment so will pick it up on 1st May and add some more details as I work over the car. Here are a couple of pictures to whet your apatites:
  11. I am actively looking for a nice SVX. Started looking about 7 years ago but could not find anything I really liked. Started looking again just after Christmas and have looked at about 4 so far and hope I am getting close. Will post as soon as it happens. Though I am not looking for concourse I will have it looking smart by the time I'm done. Watch this space, but if anyone knows of a good one that might be for sale, please let me know. Cheers Peter
  12. The menu you have set up looks good Pete. I know a lot of people like the idea of having your own DA but in my work (10 years of doing smart repairs on everything from Fords to Ferraris) I still see lots of examples of owners (and semi-pros) who have burnt through the paint on a swage line. If you do use a DA please treat each area on a panel with a swage line, as a separate area, working TOWARDS a swage line and NOT over it. Modern water based paint, as used by most manufacturers for the last 15 years is very good, but about 1/2 the overall thickness of the previous paints. Take care and enjoy the process. Peter
  13. Hi All, I know the SVX is not general fair on the site, but some of my questions may apply across the Subaru range, so here goes. I have found a car that fits my mechanical needs and the bodywork is something I can deal with but the interior is a bit rough so some things would need to be dealt with PDQ. The car is a 1993 build, though registered in 1995. Steering wheel has seen much better days, there is another wheel with the car but it is non air-bag. Would it be possible to fit the earlier non air-bag wheel, or would and air-bagged wheel of another Subaru model work? The ICE is a Kenwood radio/cassette head unit with a 6 CD changer in the boot. What I really want is DAB and MP3. Am I best to dump the old head and changer and fit a new head unit that fits my needs, or should I try and keep the changer? The head unit is single DIN, but there is room for a double DIN. Cheers Peter
  14. Chris, a little late, but just wanted to say thanks for the chat and the chance to see the car, you really have done well there. I looked at a lot about 7 years ago and yours is right up there. Still looking and I think it is your fault. Peter
  15. Will keep my eyes open and thanks for the welcome.
  16. Hi All About 10 years ago I looked to find myself an SVX but got distracted. The time has come round again and I would like to find one again. Same as everyone I guess, I would like to find the best I can with the intention of keeping it a long time and sorting out all the niggles over time. Would love to meet up with an owner or two for a chat before jumping into ownership but starting to look now. Thanks all
