Front Fog Light
I did think of getting one of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/361383863841?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT But on closer inspection the ebay one appears to have some sort of diffuser in front of the bulb, whereas mine just shows the bulb inside the reflector.

Front Fog Light
Cheers, Stants. I'll rummage around under the wheel arch first.

Front Fog Light
My nearside front fog light on my 2008 SG9 has a corroded reflector. I am thinking of replacing it, but looking in the service manual, it refers to front bumper removal to extract it. Is this really necessary or can I reach it from inside the front wing having removed the liner?

SG Forester headlight sprayers
I have a SG9 with blanking plates on the bumper. EXCEPT they are not blanking plates but headlight washers which pop out and spray your lights only when they are illuminated and you use the screen washers. They are also an MOT requirement for vehicles with HID lights.

Beep
So there I was driving my SG9 down a private road at a great rate of knots, when I hear a single beep (similar to my alarm beep) when I get past 110 mph. Is this a built in Subaru feature to warn you to back off, or was I imagining things?

Subaru Proven warranty
Thanks for the advice. As you say, as I am not doing a high annual mileage, a bit of TLC should keep it going. It is booked in to Keith Price Garages (my local scoobie dealer) for its MOT and annual service next week. I am not aware of any Indy Subaru specialists in the S.E. Wales/Hereford/Gloucester area. I am sure there must be some somewhere. :)

Subaru Proven warranty
Thoughts/advice would be appreciated. I bought my 09 reg SG9 XTEn Forester 12 months ago from a dealer and it came with 12 months warranty. It currently has 56,00 miles on the clock. The car has given me that grin factor which equals that of my Triumph Bonnie and there have been no problems so far. I have been offered another 12 months warranty for £500, which includes part payment for MOT failure rectification and roadside recovery and rescue, which in itself is probably worth £50-£100. I only drive about 8000 leisure miles a year, no commuting, and consider myself to be a sympathetic driver. No bouncing up kerbs or driving over speed humps at warp speed. I also ensure the car is serviced in accordance with the service schedule. Risk management. What to do?

do keys have to be re-coded after battery change?
You mention keys. Are neither of them working? Probably a silly comment, but is the new battery inserted correctly. Negative side up.

2005 /2007 Power Output
When I first got my XT, I was surprised at the road noise. The tyres at the time were Kleber with plenty of tread on them but were manufactured in 2009. I sourced another set of wheels with tyres which were Geolanders and manufactured in 2011/12. Severe road noise disappeared and its as quiet as any saloon car now. Perhaps the rubber gets harder as it ages. You can check the age of your tyres by looking at the sidewall for 4 numbers which will be in a rectangle. Something like 4611. This tells you that the tyre was manufactured in the 46th week of 2011. :)

2005 /2007 Power Output
The V5 for my XTEn 2.5, states 169 kw. This converts to 226.63273301 bhp! This link below I think is reasonably accurate:- http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/reviews/facts-and-figures/subaru/forester/estate-2002/

Forester sunroof
Update. Doh! Item 9 on the parts fische says sunroof seal. Very misleading. This is actually the interior trim around the roof lining below the glass roof. Apparently the seal around the glass is only available with the glass panel! megabucks! Back to the drawing board :(
