  1. i do help people out like friends and family where i can, but i travel around for the job i have 6 offices to look after and about 200 home users that keep my busy. the main part of my work though is the servers and network, always something to do or that can be tweeked. main objective though it to go into wireless networking and architecture.
  2. Nice idea, well i'm trained in managing hotels but after being made redundant 3 times, i decided to change my profession so 6 years ago i took a IT class and i was hooked, i now work as an IT field engineer covering the east midlands and really enjoy it, yeah it has its bad days but what job doesn't.
  3. i'm probable wrong but i though the wrx was always spect with hid's? have a look at some 4200k bulbs, they dont look as white but give a much better light at night. simply the hotter the buld the worse the output, as a rule of thumb.
  4. i wouldn't go disconnecting the self leveling, its an MOT failure if they do not adjust. I do wonder why they are not very good though, what temperature bulbs are you using in them, 4200k, 5k or higher?
  5. I'm no expert but reading a lots about them they should run at about 0.8 bar
  6. yep i would have to agree with both of you their, JCT do seem to be over prised but then again if he is very careful with what he buys and sells i guess he will be a bit more expensive that any trader. can't put a price on care for a car i'd say.
  7. yeah thats what i thought too, ok going to go see it tomorrow see what its like, btw are they just new shocks or upgraded ones (not much info there to be sure). went to Subaru Nottingham today between sites and they dont have a single Impreza in at the moment, they think they will have some in when the new one launches in may, hmm. oh well their loss i guess lol
  8. ok, apart from being a couple of years and a few minles difference between the two cars below why so much difference in price?? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201403062285511/sort/default/usedcars/radius/45/maximum-age/up_to_7_years_old/postcode/ng235ns/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/make/subaru/body-type/estate/page/1/model/impreza?logcode=p http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201312060368124/sort/default/usedcars/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/model/impreza/maximum-age/up_to_7_years_old/postcode/ng235ns/page/1/make/subaru/body-type/estate/radius/45?logcode=p
  9. ah ok, never tried doing a refurb myself, i guess you need some specilest tools to do it?
  10. i would say your looking at about £80 a corner to refurb those and change the colour, i would look at a gunsmoke finish might give you something similar to what you currently have maybe slightly darker.
  11. I'm sure there will be a huge grin, i was lucky enough to drive a P1 many years ago when they were launched and loved every minute of it, pity i couldn't afford one at the time lol. costs wise for filter, map and pipes what would i be looking?
  12. ah well i didn't know that they never made the sti in the newage waggon, thanks. going to have a pop round my local subaru dealer today at lunch i think, see what they have about and maybe try an wrx (saloon as i dont think they have any waggons), will be useful to feel what they should be like and understand what i might be getting myself into lol. i am planning on doing a bit to the car, remap, intake, exhaust change but i dont want to go full out racing/rallying spec, any thoughts on basic upgrades/changes that i could look at doing just to give it a bit more oomph (don't do just standard, i like cars so why shouldn't mine go a bit quicker than someone that doesn't lmao). Thanks In Advance Matt
  13. Try a route planner and select avoid motorways, gets you back roads home for lots of fun and you could even make a day of it, have lunch out at a nice pub or something :)
  14. Nice but ooooh that will be so hard on the ride. Don't mind a harder ride but I do like to finish a journey in one piece lol! Do need to think with the mileage that I'll be doing I need something under 60k at the start so I can run it for a few years.
  15. thats the one i've seen in the adds so far, so i think i'll take a loo at it next week get a feel for them and really get a good understanding of the car. they do seem to have quite a few impreza's so i guess they know their stuff. good thing about my job i go out and about a fair bit so if a car is close to where i'm working i'll ake a quick diversion to take a look.
  16. thanks, I'm a it field engineer so go around the east midlands a fair bit. now all I need to do is find the car lol :D
  17. ok so 10k between servicing and about £175 as an average, not bad considering. I would only want to use 99 products like vmax and excellium, great thing to have the company pay for all the fuel its not something I need to worry about too much lol :)
  18. thanks Stanton and matt for the comments. yeah I would be looking at a hawkeye possibly wrx, I do about 25k a year so about 4 services a year then at a guess, what the sort of pricing on servicing, I'm not bad at doing some things myself on the drive as its pretty flat. main reason I'm looking at something like this is I get a car allowance from work at about £260 per month so would need to pay for servicing, tires and such out of that.
  19. Morning All well as the title says I'm new to the Scooby scene although I've been an admirer for a long time. I'm looking for a later estate at about £8k, now my questions are: what do I need to look out for when buying? service intervals and costs? what are they like on long distances (not worried on fuel economy but more about the ride)? nice forum btw, seems to be a lot of information out here to do most things
