Try using BP Ultimate Diesel yes cost a few pence more but that's one of the first things I noticed how much quieter the engine was also how much more responsive the car is too several friends say the same on other makes of car too :-)

What diesel fuel do you run your car on?? yes I know it said we should not run our cars on Biofuel ( supermarket ) but I know lots do due to price. I normally run mine on standard shell diesel with the odd tank of Asda's own now and again. I looked into these super premium diesel like optimax a few years ago but did not see any gain or feel any difference in them. A couple of weeks ago my friend told me he had just tried BP ultimate and could not believe the difference it had on his car virtually straight away. This got me thinking again about these fuels, so I started reading about them. I also found this 5th gear video https://youtu.be/ezjknhwcQXU I decided to try this for myself to see if there is any difference a few years on. I ran my car down to the last 20 miles in the tank and visited my local BP garage to fill up. The BP ultimate diesel was £1.30 per Ltr with my normal shell around here been £1.19 so big 11p per Ltr difference. My first drive was around 20 miles and I didn't feel any difference at all (just as I tought same old same old ) The next day I decided to go visit my dad who lives about 40 miles away, after about 20-30 miles I noticed that the engine defiantly sounded quieter and smoother and the throttle response was much better. I am now on my second tank and have done around 750 miles on it and can't believe the difference it is defiantly smoother and more responsive and the car defiantly pulls harder. I have not seen any gain in economy as yet but no loss either but its early days. I don't do mega mileage per month so for now I am going to run on this for a few more tanks and monitor it, I have also found another BP garage on the other side of town that sells the ultimate for £1.26 per Ltr What are other people's views on fuel and super fuels ??

I wonder if there is any different styling like the spy pics on other post ?

yes found one but by the time it gets here not that much in the price to be fair crazy price for a piece of fiberglass
-
nice luck you :-) what's the differences?
-
Hi yes I wanted one for mine but again Subaru know how to charge for additions mine quoted me £350 plus paint and fitting crazy crazy that's the picture I saw as it's the same colour as mine and it looks good on it, shame :(
-
agreed simply do it your self dealer price is crazy I just built my floor up around the spare wheel using stiff cardboard tube, works fine as Dogconker has said fasten rear belts ( strange I have always done this on all my cars ) lol
-
Dogconker nice winter video :-) cars did good in the winter we had to be fair :)
-
thought it was time to upgrade these due to them been dull and yellow and the car having xenon headlights. was not straight forward though :-( when I removed the old bulbs which are mega small I found that the new ones would not fit in the light unit. I ended up removing the unit and enlarging the holes so the new bulbs would fit in. all done now and loving the new xenon white look to them, very bright indeed next job led side lights :-)

Hi Gigi although we didn't get loads of snow here we did have a couple of days were I got to try out the car in snow but only a few inches the car on the Geolandar factory tyre seemed to cope ok, felt stable when driving and didn't get stuck anywhere I did find the car to slide when breaking though guess this is because there not proper winter tyres for me they are ok but when they are done I might look at different tyre options
-
as title says what's your experience's been in the snow and winter months with you xv's ?? good, bad, fun how did you find the stock tyres? or has anyone got different tyres on?
-
Dogconker 79 mpg that's amazing best I have ever seen was 62.5 guess I have a heavy foot lol doing around 45mpg for last week
-
car has done 14k and had a service at 8k and runs fine , no sticking brakes last few days been getting 45 mpg so I guess its just winter and cold engine for longer dogconker cant believe you get this mileage all the time you must do longer runs than me lol
-
another thing what do you guys do with your heater system?? pick what and where you want or leave on full auto so it puts a/c on a direction where and when needed?
-
using shell 90% of my fill ups are from the same local garage I understand winter fuel, lights and heater on more but it is a big drop off

Hi I am using a Samsung s4 and it works fine on 4.4.4 also have tried it on 5.0.2 lollipop and it worked fine could be a setting on your phone ? -
Hi no I didn't, I removed everything from the boot and sat my full size wheel in to be honest the wheel well is slightly small for a full size wheel so it does not sit completely flat but close enough I then made some supports from tubing and placed them round the floor area this allowed me then to sit my original floor on top of them and the put in my rubber mat it's not the best job on the world but it gives me a flat boot again which is useable space. when it gets a bit warmer ( spring ) I will re do it properly I will use the tube supports but I am going to buy some mdf and cut the correct boot shape and make it look like a professional fit
