  1. I will write up something for you to follow tomorrow :-) its easy enough to do, you can mask up the front grill and spray it on the car but it's nearly just as quick to remove grill and separate parts and then spray them for a much better job as for the back again simple enough mask up spray and remove access http://www.plastidip.com/ got mine here http://matt-pack.co.uk/
  2. not real tuning lol more improvement it deffo makes car look better and not in a Halfords way, there is no other chrome on car in my view grill looks odd and out of place inchrome you should do it and then see if she spots it lol the good thing about plastiip is it is totally removable and leave no trace so grill will be back chrome if you don't like it :-)
  3. I like the idea of the stone chip guard at the front but holding reservation till I see on in real life
  4. it looks great on white car :-) it's easy, you do it yourself :-) I can send you step by step instructions to remove your grill and how to separate parts you buy a can of plastidip ( liquid plastic ) and spray youself :-) if I can do it lol
  5. I agree with DC you deffo need one it's essential looks great and as said stops all the scratches mine is also gen Subaru one
  6. Saw this on another Subaru forum and thought I would start one here :-) First thing I did this weekend was fit my new Rally Armor mud flaps, finally arrived :-) Next up was Plastidip the front grill and rear logos. I don't like the chrome it does nothing for me and to be honest looks out of place as there is no other on the car Finally washed and polished :-)
  7. not for me, I just use proper fuel ( shell or bp ) and don't use bio supermarket yes costs a bit more but car likes it and every 5th tank I fill with nitro+ or ultimate to keep super clean
  8. glad your on your way to getting all sorted :-) your dealer sounds very bad, glad Subaru stepped and are making things right :-) my dealer K T Green Ltd | New & Used Subaru Dealer Leeds have been great to be fair, nothing but praise when I noticed my sunroof rubber seal was starting to crack and split, I took it in and the guy came and took a look. that don't look good he said I will ring Subaru and let you know, 3 hours later he rang me back and told me they were replacing the whole sunroof panel which they did. its good when you get a dealer that is good and cares this should be the norm...
  9. not good take it back :-)
  10. Hello Princess lou Lou and welcome as dogconker has said these little annoyances can be a real pain to sort out where does it sound like its coming from? the only rattle I have had from my car when I traced it came from where the top speaker grills that are on top of the dash. after driving me nuts for a few weeks I decided to sort it I removed the plastic grills for a day to see if it stopped which it did, so I then bought a tube of clear silicon sealer and applied it to the mounting legs of the trim and pushed them back into place. sorted on more rattles :-) as its silicon I can easily remove it if I need to be in there in the future.

    Tyres

I would find that hard to believe to be honest so long as all 4 tyres are the same make / pattern and with in the same tread depth

  19. As this is the last day off work for a wile I decided to have a ride up the Yorkshire dales. I did 140ish miles and averaged 49mpg for the day not bad at all some amazing views :-) so I thought I would share a pic or two :-)
  20. well after the wait my new door sills have arrived and I finally got round to fitting them. these are aftermarket ones as genuine ones are stupid money, and to be fair I like these better they look great and fit well happy :-)
  21. totally stay away from kerbs, no off-roading for me, yes forest road and odd track but my xv is my so I look after it well. I got the 4 wheel alignment done at my Subaru garage where it came from ( thought that would be best they should know what there doing lol ) cost £100 which to be fair is what others charge for proper job as I said mine was all out fount and back, they did spend 3 hrs so I don't feel to bad :-) deffo worth doing before you go stick 4 new tyres on that said Dogconker yours has 48k on and no issues so I would think yours is all ok to be honest

    Tyres

dogconker it is to do with the 4x4 system there is a page in hand book about it. something like you have to use all the same type / make of tyre and the tread has to be within a certain mm of each other or you can damage the Symmetrical 4 wheel drive out of whack. Marcothio I guess its early to tell but I have done 2.5k miles on them and they are like new also I have not seen any drop or gain in mpg if they are as good in summer months as winter there on to a winner because using them in snow, ice and water has been very very positive indeed. no issues in getting about and very planted on the road.
  23. yes looks like it was all out of whack since day 1 but all sorted now :-) and new tyres fitted
