  1. Happy Birthday Leecalcars!

  2. All sorted now thanks
  3. Plugs changed aswell mate , just gearbox and diff oil to change then changing the front discs and pads and painting the callipers ....RED !!!!
  4. Got back from the States yesterday and set too on the fault with my forester, after 6 hrs of dremmiling and chiseling I finally got the nut of that holds the up pipe bracket to up pipe ,the nut was seized solid and rounded of got it off after a lot of hard work then removed the banjo bolt onto cylinder head and removed the gauze filter put it back together problem solved cleared the ecu of fault codes all good . Thanks for the advice chaps appreciate it. Apparently subaru recalled this problem on warranties back in 2007 to remove them I think the issue is basically the car hasn't had regular servicing ie oil and filter I did mine today took all of half hour and cost about 30 quid ...! No excuse really but all fixed now problem solved runs a dream !!!
  5. Not sure if it has one certainly not open on the banjo end of the oil feed pipe is there one on the head where the pipe is connected too .. ?
  6. If the oil return was loose woulkd this cause a problem ? theres no leaks ive checked gona drop the oil on my return from the states change the turbo again ,no oil lights coming up or cel lights it has to be a blockage somewhere on the oil feed ,the pipes have been checked ,just wondereing if there is a gauze on the pipe coming off the head that is blocked ive heard allsorts of rumors when doing an engine flush apart from this problem the car runs sweet just killing turbos this will be the 4th one !!!!!
  7. Would that just not throw up a low oil pressure warning light ? It could be a cam sensor not sure how the variable timing heads work but I'm sure it'll be a sensor gone down somewhere but think the oil is the issue to the turbo as it's killed 3 now !
  8. Right as some of you may know I've changed the turbo on the car 3 times now and when leaving to come to the states on Friday the drive was cancelled as it has killed another ! The oil pick up pipe was checked but obviously there is a major problem somewhere along the line . The car seemed fine for around 15 or so miles then at a steady constant I felt a kick in it and knew then there was the same problem again !!! I limped into a safe area called a taxi and caught my plane . My mates have been to pick the car up it get it home for me today and another turbo now gone not sure what it could be but it ain't right and needs sorting any ideas anyone ? Lee
  9. Problem with the individual coil packs is or can be the wiring ! But looking at these avcs heads the wiring goes under the inlet manifold so to replace these I would imagine would be a right pain !!! The coil packs genuine oe part can be bought for around £40 each from Australia opposed to uk prices of about £130 each , it's advisable to change all 4 at the same time so is an expense we could do without . The single coilpack you can buy for around £175 new cheaper second hand why Subaru changed them I assume to do with the variable valve timing . Whatever happened to plugs leads and distributor ????
  10. Glad you got sorted mate reasonably cheaply
  11. Just purchased some PFR6B plugs @£8 each as the others were nearly destroyed ... Problem is some people buy these cars and can't afford to service them properly so they go for years without notice, then the unsuspecting buyer comes along who has to put his hand in his pocket to rectify a lot of stuff that should have been done !! I changed my plugs cleaned all the coil packs refitted all good .. Fingers crossed, the early subaru's had the coilpack mounted on the inlet manifold with HT leads branching off a lot easier IMHO , but the later cars have changed to spark plug individual coil packs which are a B*****D to change but with patience it can be done with out lifting the motor up !!!
  12. the car was booked in for a full fluid change but I'm pushed for time as I fly to the states on Friday morning !!Couldn't really see physically a blockage but definatley no oil in the feed pipe as with it disconnected nothing came out on initial start up then oil shot out everywhere after changing the turbo again oil was in the mentioned pipe so should be working properly now ! I totally agree an oversight by myself thinking all was ok and not checking why the unit had failed ... Live and learn I suppose my race car has a nice braided hose oil feed don't want to kill a £2000 turbo on that now that would be costly but td04's are quite cheap and easy to come by just hassle in changing it but ..... Dab hand now !
  13. you could say that mate yep !! Hopefully all sorted now... Makes you wonder if this car has ever been serviced going to change all fluids tommorow duff oil, engine oil and gearbox oil then brakes
  14. Well long story short took a drive to Manchester from home about 130 odd miles and 7 miles to destination the turbo decides to pack up (second one in 4 weeks), eventually get the AA to flat bed us back home. Me and a mate got hold of another turbo and stayed up till 2.30 am this morning fitting it that's the third one in as many weeks!!! Found out it was getting oil starvation from a blocked oil feed pipe we cleared the blockage mopped up the oil but got the CEL light up with flashing cruise light ... This morning I set too on changing the plugs as it was in limp mode and besides they needed doing anyway after 3 hrs coil packs cleaned and all fitted my mate Craig came down with his computer to reset the fault codes all clear running as sweet as a nut again .... !Removed! subaru's !!!
  15. I am a picture !Removed! !!!
