So I don't know if everyone knows but I have left Cobb and have moved over to XRT Tuning. It is still the beginning as we are doing a lot of data logs to keep fine tuning and adjusting different parameters of the ecu but I can honestly say that I have never had my car feel this good!! The response of the turbo and the engine used to have quite a delay and would stop making power around 5000rpm. Also I was running 19-20psi. As of right now I am at stock boost levels and I have much better response from the engine and no delay in the drive by wire system and I am also happy to say I am making much more power at way less boost and the car continues to pull and wants to go and keep pulling past redline the power delivery is absolutely incredible and we are nowhere near done tuning it for anyone local who does not believe you are more than welcome to meet up with me and feel it for yourself and see how a really great tune can make a car feel. I am running much safer and not overly rich as the prior pro tune was running. It also got rid of the so called "STi shudder" that people say is common lol. I will continue to update this post along the way so everyone can see what happens and for all the Dyno guys after I am at a point where I want to be I will get a pull done to show the numbers. I highly recommend XRT tuning he is a genius at what he does and ask anyone who has been tuned by Ed and I am sure you will get the same response and his customer support is like none other. I regret not doing this sooner but I Believe everything happens for a reason so the prior moves led me here and I am very fortunate to have someone as knowledgeable and talented tuning my vehicle! Thanks for reading 5th gen fam. If anyone wants to PM me to find out more details feel free.
Well from the research that I did and talking with ALOT of people at all the shows and different forums the tuner that did the pro tune was regarded as One of best tuners around these areas! He has done a lot of subarus and quite a few 5th gen LGT's. I am not trying to bash him but after seeing how poorly the car was running and how everything was set I'm positive that everyone should be tuned by you Ed. The way my car has felt from V1 is still better than what he did! Now that we are in a better state knowing how the car is running and the way you have adjusted everything I am driving around with a smile from ear to ear!! I have caught a few people at stop light look at me and probably wonder why a crazy person is behind the wheel but that is because they have never been truly happy behind the wheel of their car , which I can proudly say that I am and I know that things will keep getting better as she learns more. I also want to thank you for the unbelievably great customer service/support that I have gotten and continue to receive. It is so much better than anything I've delt with since starting with my car. Thank you very much for being such a great person and a genius at your craft!! I can't wait to see what's next!!!!!!!!!
Lol I don't mind having at least a mini stroke from happiness!! It's so wild to me that there is still more to come!! It is such a pleasure to work with a tuner as great as you because out here it would be like pulling teeth to make the tuner even give you one revision
Just a little teaser. Waiting to see the 1/4 mile time. Dbw aggressiveness been crank up a little and so did the boost 4400+. Awaiting logs to see the flow pattern.
Graph shows the TA Protuned Cobbs running more boost vs XRT tuning running a tab low boost in mid range and much lower 4800+. All power is gain by TQ Management, Dual AVCS tuning, reduce fueling and ignition tuning. Again I am waiting on further logs to finalised the tune.
Luis please your last throughts.
This last update again felt amazing!! The Power delivery is so smooth and so linear it feels as the car just wants to keep going if there wasn't a redline in place lol. It's amazing how responsive the car is with the DBW and Turbo response also the way the car sounds is different and more aggressive sounding when getting on it it makes me smile even more LOL To know that there are still things that can be adjusted is wild to me because of how far this has already surpassed any of my expectations and it is light years beyond the tune that I was running prior! Ed you are a true genius and are able to do things with a tune that I have never experienced and I know by all the people you have tuned and how happy everyone is that this is a common occurrence why anyone would not want to go this route is beyond me because from now on I will no longer have any car without being tuned by you! I will update more as time passes thank you again Ed and thank you everyone for following this post stay tuned there is more excitement to follow!

FYI - http://xtremeracingtuning.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=115&t=738
Good evening!
While operating the Facebook group STI, Luis came across XRT due to Gio Supercharged 3.6R and contacted me for a tune, since he has heard and seen many good things about XRT.
Luis MY10 LGT 2.5 6MT was running an Alliance tuned using the Cobbs Protuned and we chatted what XRT can do and straight away, I said I can get that power to the ground without even tuning the Engine. He was shock and wondered what snake oil crap I was talking about.
Well last night, after sending me some Protuned logs, I sent him a rom and with Gio help, he was on v0 and was blown away with how can a stock boost tuned be just as capable as 18+psi tune. All the issues he had just disappear. I still find it amazing why he so excited, but he did tell me he can now drive his car. Before he couldn't due to issues in the power delivery. "My car is now smooth," he told me.
I spend going 4hrs on the phone with him using BBM and remote view on Gio and his laptop for close to real-time tuning.
Please see his comments from the the FB group.

What a great way to start the day!! Now I am officially a part of the XRT Family and wow did I wait too long to make the change. I will do a write to explain in depth but I must say that at stock boost levels (which I was running way higher before) the car is a new machine In Every way!! It feels so great I can't stop smiling ! The car just wants to go! The power is so linear and smooth and are used to have an issue with some choppiness throughout the RPM range which is completely gone now!! Thank you Ed so much for the genius that you put in to every car that you work on the customer support and the knowledge is unsurpassed everyone should be on a tune by Ed I don't think anyone one who isnt really realizes how much better their car will be because of all the Forst comments from people saying oh when you buy your car/Subaru you need to buy an Cobb, WRONG!!!!It is going to be my goal to change all of that! Have a great day everyone I will update more as soon as I am out of work
Thank you so much Ed!!! You are true genius with tuning!! And also such a great person to work with!! Can't wait to see what we can do with this car as time goes on!! I have people already calling me for rides so they can see lol

Driving in the automatic mode is now enjoyable as the car does not struggle in 5th gear anymore, she downshifts super fast and always when i need just a lil extra power when passing/overtaking cars or climbing hills. In Full automatic Sport mode or Sport Sharp # mode, both modes feel like you are in the manual tiptronic mode with how the power is delivered in throttle response. Before tuning when i would give it gas, it would take a few seconds for the power to be delivered and i could actually start feeling/Speeding up, but now as soon as i give it gas, she just wants to go!Super peppy from Ed's tuning of the TCU, the DBW system has been fully adjusted and now it feels like theres power on demand, it an awsome feeling! No more struggling up hills or struggling for the auto tranny to downshift into 4th/3rd. Before when i would want the car to downshift in full auto mode, you would have the slam the pedal down to get it to downshift for passing/hill climbing...now you barely have to give it any gas for it to downshift to 4th!The bogged down feeling i used to have is gone now that Ed has tuned the TCU! One other thing i noticed with the TCU tuning, when i would red line any gear...between 6000-6700rpm would take really long and it would almost struggle to fully redline to shift gears...now it just flys throughout the WHOLE rpm range, especially at the top of the rpm range it doesnt stall out or struggle to pull thru to redline for gear shifting.Everything ed has done with the TCU has been above and beyond my expectations, Shifting is smoother & faster than before!Videos will be posted soon of how she flys!!On to Rom V16..The Throttle Response due to the lag has been adjusted so that when i give it gas, it goes! Its a great feeling...With the Full exhaust system in place she has a Beautiful Raspy Rumble Created by the Raptor Headers w/High flow Cats. The new exhaust system plus the Ecu tuning allows me to move thru the rpm range ALOT faster than before! Its like night and day from how the 3.0R was before I started tuning with Ed.Driving in the automatic mode is now enjoyable as the car does not struggle in 5th gear anymore, she downshifts super fast and always when i need just a lil extra power when passing/overtaking cars or climbing hills. Minor tuning adjustments might need to be made. Ive just received ROM V17. Review Comming Soon.Legacy H6 3.6R 5EATCustomer has moved from Ecutek to XRTCustomer feedback:Thu Aug 27, 2015 12:20 pmstevenc1703 had already been drinking the (Xtreme Racing Tuning) 3.6R elixir long before I tried it :)On my 3rd revision with XRT and the car is responding very well to west_minist's changes!v0 was already great - great idle, low/mid range torque, great transmission behavior, zero knock.v1 improved throttle response, made it quick and crisp and added even more low/mid range torque, further timing and AVCS tweaks.v2 (latest) is the icing on the cake. Rounded out all the changes from v0 and v1.Smoothest power delivery, pulls great from low RPM all the way to 6.x K RPMNearly ideal throttle response and transmission behavior (I can't imagine it getting any better!). The car responds to throttle input like a 2015 WRX in S or S# and the transmission works very similar to it too. Holds gears, downshifts and upshifts very quickly.More testing this weekend.Tue Aug 25, 2015 8:36 pmCustomer has moved from Ecutek to XRTCustomer feedback:I've switched to an XRT (Xtreme Racing Tuning) tune and all I can say is WOW!The car is now updated with both the latest stock FHI/SoA ECM and TCM stock flashes and tuned on top of these. We're 'only' on the 2nd revision and already making great progress.Ed has been a pleasure to work it. Extremely knowledgeable, professional, responsive with performance and log results that back it up.Engine runs great, transmission runs great, no longer constantly tries to upshift to 5 all the time, holds lower gears, responds far far better to throttle input and delivers the torque I'd expect at low and mid-RPM.StevenC, you're spot on with how the 5EAT can be transformed. All thanks to Xtreme Racing Tuning. I'm impressed. In addition:First of! Wow! I'm not sure if you've already tweaked the TCM affecting params and table, but WOW.The 5EAT holds gears, shifts much better. Its a night and day difference. The engine itself seems much happier, runs better, idles better. And it seems like during the whole log IAM stayed constant at '1'. Which is great!

Hi everyone :)!
After the tuning process of my Legacy H6 3.0R MY05 with 5EAT is finished i wanted to say a few words about my impressions and feelings about the entire story. Excuse my wording here and there as English isn't my first language and I'm a bit rusty regarding that
I bought the car from a dealer who had it from Subaru of Germany in the beginning of 2013 as my new daily driver. As a car that they used for their business purposes, it had covered only around 40.000 kilometers back than, a quite small number regarding the fact that it is one of the very early pre facelift models, built in 2004. On the downside, I assume that it stood around outdoors for a long time not being moved or only over short distances in the city of Friedberg where Subaru has it's HQ over here.I replaced the entire rotten exhaust system with new RaptorSC headers, 200cpsi metallic catalytic converters and a new designed custom 2" cat back system with FOX performance silencers and contacted Edward afterwards to get everything tuned, lower the insane fuel consumption after the modification (the car didn't like the free flow exhaust system, consuming over 20 ltrs / 100km) and make everything feel a little bit more sporty. From the beginning to the end, it was amazing to work with him. When I look back, I almost feel a little bit sorry for all the silly questions he had to answer, but he never lost patience and answered every single of them until everything was clear (even to me :P).We went through a huge amount of tunes but things didn't go very well until i decided to replace the 10 years old front o2 sensors, which caused lots of problems and only worked from time to time. After that, the final tune was found pretty quickly, especially because Edward delievers new tunes in about no time.I'm more then pleased with the outcome; not only that the consumption is down a lot (about 11,5 liters / 100 km driven hard in the range of 130kph up to 240 kph on the German Autobahn, often in 4th or even 3rd gear for maximum acceleration and a good amount below 10 liters / 100 km at chilled highway cruising), everything feels more responsive, the car isn't hitting the rev limiter anymore when using kickdown all the way up, it just feels fantastic. I have to admit that I don't know what exactly Edward did in the end to achieve this great feeling, but we went through different kinds of settings and after some short messages via Whatsapp he was able to achieve a result just like I wanted to for my daily driver and couldn't even describe with words.Even if the car feels more sporty if you want to push it harder, there's much more power below the magical 3000rpm mark and the power band is very, very smooth (much smoother then OEM) and it still feels very drivable regarding every-day-use.I don't know about power figures but actually I don't care at all; the car is hitting 260 km/h on the dashboard (around 245 GPS, before tuning around 235) and is doing 0-100 km/h in under 6.5seconds (no idea what it was before). Impressive if you imagine that it feels stronger at low rpm, too.Long story short: That's how Subaru should have delivered the car out of the factory.I'll contact Edward again next year regarding a tune for my JDM STI and after my dad - who drives a 3.6R Outback, we're a Subaru family here at the mountains - has driven the Legacy after the final tune for the first time, Edward can be sure that he has got a new customer at this moment. Right now we are waiting for the 3.6R's headers to arrive from RaptorSC :D.After looking for a tuner for quite some time in Germany without a result, i've found the best I can imagine over this strange thing called internet 8000 kilometers away in Barbados.Thank you very much for all your efforts Edward, they're priceless!I recorded a little video today on my way from one valley to another here at the mountains, my last drive this year before mounting snow tires. Not too hard driven, but pushing it a little bit uphill. You can get the idea. And... sorry for the annoying sounds the full box of chewing gums in every turn (placeholder, video still uploading)Kindest Regards from the Black Forest!Stefan -

Subject: Re: v0Date: Sun, 21 Sep 2014 01:07:23 +0300From: KaiKTo: XRTHi,The car really feels like that and even more. The car is way better than what it was with stock ROM. The transmission is a lot of faster than what it used to be. This is how the 5EAT should have worked when it left from the factory (or engineer's table). Now the gear flaps are finally useful.

With V7 the fuel cut is gone. Car goes like mad from low rpm to redline at WOT at all gears.Car now performs with really good power. It also is very smooth, starts more easy and have better idle. Also noted that the engine sounds is different. With stock rom the engine sounded like there where some restriction. Now, engine can breathe and it can also be noted on the sound of the engine. This is the performance the car should have had when it leave the factory.I am very happy with this tune!/Dan
This car is from what I know the only one in Europe at this time. Only made in 401 pcs year 2002.As this engine is a hand built STI engine for minimum 100 octane is was very important to get it tuned for swedish 98 octane and also some improvement.I have been following openecu forums since 2007 and ONE guy have always stand out in lots of posts. Mr. Edward! So when car was ordered I contacted Ed and asked if could help me tune the car. When the car was road legal we started the tune. The support from Ed is totally outstanding. He responds to question almost 24 hours a day. He send me new updated roms faster than I could flash and log. His commitment is unique. He is more than a tuner, he is also a friend and a listener. Think that is extremely unique. He care about you and the car!Off course the tune is also outstanding. The car is now starting more easily, idle more smooth, better respond, better engine sound, more power low and high. This tune is what Subaru should have done. Very Impressive. I can recommend all you that need a real good tune XRT and Mr. Edward. Please see my tune thread Xtreme Racing Tuning ? Subject: FeedbackDate: Fri, 27 Jun 2014 09:40:57 +1000From: RobertFTo: XRTHey Ed,I will mirror what others have said, I was wary of getting the car tuned by an international tuner, but I talked to friends who have had it done to their XT Foresters etc. They assured me it wasn't as big a deal as I was worried about. I contacted Ed, he got back to me straight away, seemed very nice to deal with so that was it, bought the tactrix cable, downloaded the software, logged some driving and away we went.I am going for economy primarily, however the car is much more responsive, the adjustments made to the drive by wire made the most noticeable difference in my car. Transmission shifts quicker into the next gear, we had a little play around with this as it was slightly clunking into gears with the initial change. It also shifts down quicker when booted. The power has changed too, there is a spike of power at 3000rpm which wasn't there before, really feels like the cams come on and car pulls really hard from 3k onward.I have also noticed the cruise control works much better with the tune, it doesn't struggle in hilly terrain. When cruising in drive in the hills it doesn't shuffle for gears anymore either, which is a huge plus.So how did we go with economy? I did a round trip to the coast from Canberra (included spirited run from Tathra up Brown mountain) and managed 10km/L, average pre-tune was 9km/L at best. So highway driving will net even better. Around town the wife has been getting 8.3 to 8.5km/L about 50km more between fills. Was it worth it? Yes in short it is more economical, more responsive, it feels like a younger less tired car. Will it pay itself off? in the long run probably but for now the fun factor is high and the wife loves it.If I had my time again I would get a CAI and Headers from Raptor before tuning. Would see much more power gain from the tune.CheersRob -
Right now I had got an incomplete package here and need to sort a hybrid axle. I will call them.
