  1. Well picked up the outback tonight and am really pleased with it. Drives a treat and has plenty of torque. For a diesel it revs hard from about 1k right to the redline. Is mega comfortable as well!! Can see why you guys rave about them
  2. I don't suppose I could borrow your old grille maybe please once I get the car?? Can check if that size fits then keep an eye out for one like your new one? Being a diesel I don't know if the bonnet is different either as it has a scoop in it :-) Cheers Alan
  3. Nice one, Pick it up on Friday night so will take some pics over the weekend and post them up. It's a 2.0d re 2008my on a 58 plate. Looking forward o getting it and it's my first Subaru :-) Cheers Alan
  4. Absolutley love that. Just the look I would like for my outback. Not keen on the chrome bling American looking thing which is standard. Was considering trying to make one possily out of a legacy grille like your old one but if off the shelf is available might go for that. Is it a standard legacy part? Not sure if the grilles are the same on the legacy as the outback (fitting and shape wise.) Does anyone know?. Cheers Alan
  5. Really like that. Is just the look I was after. Have to see if I can borrow his old grille to trial fit to get one the same shape :-) Cheers Alan
  6. Hiya, Well pick the car up on Friday night so really looking forward to that and the drive home. It's a 2.0d re. Let the modding begin lol. First job is to remove the naff 1980's style pinstripes which have been put on at some point. Hopefully they'll peel off ok or will have to use the hair dryer. First proper mod though is the grill. Not keen on the chrome look of this so was thinking about getting a 2nd hand one and painting it black and adding some grille mesh. Thing is what type of grille will fit? Can I get a legacy one (with the chrome hockey sticks) and use that or do I need a specific one for the outback? Going to keep the original for when I eventually sell it again lol. Cheers Alan
  7. Haven't picked up the car yet :-( This week is going to drag sooooo bad. Probably went past the end of our road then lol.
  8. Last time I did a show at donny I stopped at the donington services. Nowt special but the room was ok and it was pretty cheap. The car seemed to be ok in the car park as well. Cheers Alan
  9. Watcha, not far from barton :-) Used to live in cottingham across the bridge and noticed there is a member there too :-)
  10. Cheers guys, Need to get a towbar fitted too lol (not for a caravan tho lol)
  11. Hi all, Just put a deposit down on a 58 plate outback RE diesel. Really looking forward to getting it next weekend :-). This is my first Subaru so interested to see how it goes. Fancied the outback for all the reasons it was built for tbh. Minor off road and the size and comfort. Got the diesel as the +40 mpg looks nice. It's fully loaded with lots of gadgets as well. First mod though is to get rid of the nasty stick on pinstripes that someone has pu on it. Will post a pic up once I get it. Cheers Alan
