  1. For the work involved would it not be easier to get some wheels with a different offset so it sat a bit wider? Might be less to worry about on things going wrong and you would be keeping the same size tyres etc? Cheers Alan
  2. Yeah would like some new wheels but they are a bit down on the list :-( Black is another option lol. I'm more inclined to silver/gold if I went dark on the wheels. Am going to steer clear of red I think for that reason. Different if they were brembos lol This is the daily car unfortunately so couldn't wait for them to be dipped. Again would look nice with some bigger brakes :-)
  3. Hiya, After a few alternative ideas. My wheels are in need of a refurb really amd am thinking of going graphite grey almost matching the body or a satin black?? Any other ideas?? Also was going to clean up the calipers while the wheels are off. Not sure if subaru had a specific colour or if it is just a choice? Thinking silver/gold or red. Again any ideas? Pic below to give an idea of colour
  4. Been emailing hammonds Subaru in Suffolk and they have been really helpful. Can get the part shipped from Japan special order! Is nice to find a dealer willing to help with something like this. It is a bit pricey for the double din kit but means I can get a new stereo which links to my phone to get nav etc. It also means I can get the dab radio as well and as that was going to be about £150 to £200 then it makes it easier to justify. Plus I have had the go ahead from swmbo to go for it. Will ring them tomorrow as it will take 2 to 4 weeks to be shipped in. Bonus. Going to get the tow bar and tints done in July as well so will just be the wheels to refurb then it will look ace (to me anyway). Am thinking of graphite :-) Once the new stereo goes in i can then see what the speakers are really like and upgrade them over a period of time as funds flow again lol. Cheers Alan
  5. Looked very nice. I was a few cars behind :-)

  6. I'm not a big drum and bass fan or anything (prefer rock music) but I do likea clear sound. I've had occasions where you can hear the speaker "rattle" if you turn the volume up.
  7. Following on from my other post with regards the ipod thingy i am seriously thinking about upgrading the stereo. Trouble is the aircon controls are built into the front panel on the outback. Can you get a replacement panel in the uk to be able to fit a double din unit?? Also the speakers aren't fantastic (i'm being nice). Tbh it is probably the only thing on the whole car that is not up to standard. When you think how much these are new i'd have thought they would have a decent standard one. Still is it the speakers that are naff and the headunit is ok or the other way round? If anyone has advice on this i'd be grateful as i haven't done a lot on radios for quite a few years? Ta Alan
  8. Hiya, Not sure if anyone will know but i have the factory phone kit on the outback but the button that does all the controls is a bit mullered. Can you get a new button or is my only option to hunt in a breakers? Ta Alan
  9. I'm with a broker called chris knott. Been really good with my stuff even when modified. Cheers Alan
  10. That is going to lead to more first corner accidents and more saftey cars. Also will the clutch take doing 3 or 4 starts if needed? The only way to make it more exciting would be to remove wings and aerodynamics which would level the playing field and make it more driver orientated . Trouble is you are then heading back to the cars of the sixties. Perhaps another way would be to make the tyres narrower so there is less grip from the engine power and making it about the driver as well as the car. Trouble is would the teams then pay all that money to enter? I'm off to see the Friday practice this year at silverstone (most time you see the cars) so be interesting to see how they sound :-) Cheers Alan

    world cup !

Is it time to point a finger at the people who run the fa though? They choose the management teams who do the "big games" but have they got the grass roots training right? Seems wrong that most of the academy teams are recruiting overseas players after a certain age as they are "more promising". Not much hope for the long term future tbh. It's been going wrong for about 50 years so has to be those at the top who are doing something wrong?
  12. Lol gave mine a wash but need to t-cut where some seagull pooped on it. Washed it off same day but it has still marked it

I don't think they stand a chance against costa rica. They had no passion or effort. I know people had a go at rooney but for me gerrard is worse. He is meant to dictate play from the midfield and he was barely in the game. He should stay off in the next game and have a complete change. Go with a full team of young blood amd get them ready for the euro's in a coue of years!!
  14. My 58 plate 2.0d RE. Love it
  15. Yep loving it. Getting a towbar fitted then having the windows tinted. Next job will be the grille if I can find one then going graphite on the alloys :-) According to the trip meter thingy I'm averaging 47mpg over about 1800 miles already! Cheers Alan
  16. Yep that's the way it seems. Lady said it takes about 20 mins to check it. Just need to book it in. Only needed the reg number and it must have come up on the computer :-)
  17. Probably going to go to Burrells at donny as it is less of a faff to get too :-)
  18. Rang the dealers re the recall on the rear brake corrosion on mine and they confirmed it is due to be looked at. Just need to organise some time of work to get it done. Cheers Alan

  20. Looking good. Are you going to paint the bolts or get some stainless ones??
  21. Yeah be up for tagging along if my wife shifts fall right :-) Yeah got options on a witter one or a Thule (which is the cheaper) so sorted.
  22. Took it off road on the track to my boys cub camp. Only a dirt track but probably the furthest it has ever been lol. Needs a clean again now though lol Cheers Alan
  23. Nice one thanks again gambit. They have come in about £50 cheaper than the other quote I had in hull so worth nipping to Louth. If I can arrange a day off work might see if I can get the bar done in the morning then on to Lincoln for the windows. Will have it looking how I want it soon. Can see about having the wheels coloured gunmetal grey as well to try and give it that sleek look. Cheers Alan
  24. Hi gambit, rang perry and he's good for doing it. Price seems good as well. Probably going to take it to Lincoln as my garage is a bit dusty lol Cheers for the heads up. Just need to sort the towbar then can get it booked in Cheers Alan
  25. Well done looks ace :-)
