What does this mean? bubling radiator water...
Hi guys, the other day i went to the top of a mountain with the scooby, i drove it quite chill, nothing crazy... no more than 3000 rpms uphill and when i got to the top i got this: Any ideas whats going on? Water levels seems to be ok... temperature ok... but this was happening... Thanks! :D

Did someone tried the NPR pistons? they seem to be quite cheap... around 100 pounds... there are any good? :D

I have been reading and they said that is kinda pointless to put Cosworth gaskets if no mods are gonna be made xD, i was planning to change turbo, but still cant modify the ECU, so dont know what mods i can do to improve performance without the need to remap the ECU xD

When changing gaskets, and the engine is open, what else to do?
Well, here is THE thing.... on Spain, more specifically in the southern region it gets pretty worm during the summer, around 40 C or even more, thats why what im currently aiming is probably to deal with those heats without any problem, i changed the radiator, and also the thermostat in order to open 10 C before... So priority 1 is the reliability, priority 2 is performance... dont know much to do other than forged pistons and forged rods, since its an open deck of a 97 wrx :P Also budget is not that big... hahahah how good are the stock pistons and rods? are those forged? do i need to change them as well? not planning to do a remap since i will have to also get a new ECU and i dont know many trust-able places here in Spain to do a remap... :P

Yup, I dont know if its broken or not, but i have a small oil leak, and to be honest, the car its from the 1997... xD at some point it needs to have the internals changed :P But yeah, dont know if its truly worth it to upgrade to forged the internals being an open deck :P

Hahahahhaha well, yeah... but when you mean forge, you mean pistons and rods, right? :P I was planning to do put: - Head Gasket Cosworth - Head Bolts Cosworth - Bearings Cosworth Im not on a big budget, I saw some japanese pistons that were ionidized or something like that, at 120 pounds or so... but... brand is kinda unknown to be honest... And i dont know if it really makes sence to invest too much on an open deck :(

So, the bearings is the only must? How about the bolts that connect the heads and so on? :P

When changing gaskets, and the engine is open, what else to do?
Hiya guys! Im planning to change head gaskets soon, since i found the coolant with a brownish color... still is kinda strange, since the coolant and oil levels are good for quite a while, and even with a small oil leak coming from the bottom... So, when the engine is open, what else should be changed? Whats mandatory? or only the Head Gaskets and thats it, dont even open to the crankshaft level? Thanks! :D

Steam coming out of the hood :(
I didn't, since I don't have a garage from my own... I take it to a mechanic :P Maybe what it would make sense would be to change the rubber pipes... as he said, maybe is a tiny hole on it... On the other hand, its not actually big deal, since the car temperature now with the new thermostat is even cooler :D (quite recommended the thermostat from Mishimoto) Just below the thermostat is water... thats why i tough it could be the thermostat... but apparently is not...

Steam coming out of the hood :(
@GeoffLeggy I used to had that, but it didnt stop the steam... :(

Steam coming out of the hood :(
Nope :P Radiator is new... bought a generic one for 60 pounds... not big deal, but it does the job... changed the thermostat for one that even opens 10 degrees before the normal one... and i can see the changes... the car runs cooler... But I still get the steam... :(

Steam coming out of the hood :(
Hello guys! :D I have the scooby that after driving it for a while, when I stop it a little bit fo steam comes from between the fans of the radiator and the engine... I know its water from the radiator, but dont know where is it coming from... And just came from changing the water, thermostate and a whole flush... but still have the same issue... Any thoughts? Thanks!!! :D

Help with strange sound on the rear
Hello, so... I changed the Rear bearings... Changed the brushes... but the sound of the "clan clan clan clan" when i have people or baggage at the back, still there... the noise happens only when rear diff needs to work I guess... because otherwise the car (according to the manual) works as a FF. Any clues what could be guys? :( also, when i do a downshift and this makes the car go slow (by force), it makes a sound like a clutch when its not working well, not grabbing the shift properly... All these sounds, are at the back... any clues? Thanks! :D (By the way, the gearbox and rear diff are from an sti V3)
