  1. by the way , why do you want to relase the fork? gearbox removal?
  2. its the same round here too. i put it down to the bull effect..... as my cars red it seems to attract muppets. best one being a 1.25 fiest pushing me thru the town then when i went out the road on my way home he tries to pass me. as i ease off he dives in front and nearly take my front off. ****** to that. next straight went by him and left him. come on a fiesta. wtf? :) its not like mine looks standard. ideas above his station or he has been on the x box to long
  3. im afraid there right. early ones cant be mapped. as this is a recent think for my up grade been looking into it a bit. andy forest can live map the early ones which includes ecu for arpound 600. and truthfully you wont get much better set up thru anyone else. you have to decide what you want. esl? alcatel, simtec or most comman and a wee bit cheaper is the apexi. but its is good with the right mods to tweek up to 500 brake. truthfully you going to be looking around the 500 squid mark to buy a ecu and get it mapped. dont fall into the trick of buying one that says ' its had the same mods as your car so will plug right in'...... dont. each engine is slightly different so will need a map to pair with your engine no matter what you get

  6. im in the same point. my ra has walbro 255 tdo5 full 3in stainless decat with stainless 4 branch. fmic.iTig induction kit and only running 0.9 bar boost on standard ecu i got a safe 300 brake at last rr day.been looking i nto how to get get more power up around the 350/60 mark. was told at the rolling road a apexi power fc with commander and 440 or bigger injectors would give me that. if you want more then would need a bigger turbo and other tweeks but once you start near 400 then you would need to uprate gear box , ideally for a 6 spd but you would need to change rear diff and drive shafts too. bigger expense. if you are looking for a safe run about and fun car then go for the remapp with a fmic and injectors would see you at a safe 350. i am actually looking for a engine to do a rebuild with, new big end kit so i know when i start upping the power the engine should be ok. when you start upping old engines. well its only as strong as the most worn part of the engine internals.
  7. err i beg to differ on one point. it should not be a grommet it should be a allen key thread in cap that covers the relase fork shaft. all the classics ive worked on have a screw cap. just behind the starter motor. think the bugs are the same set up.

  9. this is my 1995 wrx type ra. slight tweeked and modded. tho i bought the car with the storm bodykit on . love it to bits tho its not everyones cup of tea. i like it coz its different and under the bonnet
  10. its funny ive read and heard the same and some scooby boys dont seem to have a problem. but i think it boils down to tyres and power i think
  11. my ra does this too. from what i can gather it depends on the 4wd split. the classics have a 60/40 split with 60 going to the back this coupled with new goodyear eagles tyres makes mine a bit twitchy at the rear. been told a set of winter tyres would make a hell of a differance. plus my power to weight does not help in the ra at 340 brake in a car that weights 1100kg
  12. having been a member of a few impreza clubs thought i woul register on here too. i have a my95 type ra in the rare 559 red color. had it about a year now and love it to bits. in all my years of driving these imprezas are one of the best drivers car ever
