  1. This is one fine looking car... :D http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUBARU-IMPREZA-P1-PRODRIVE-LTD-NUMBER-193-2-1-STROKER-468-9bhp-no-swap-/181713095530?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2a4ef1cb6a
  2. "Step 2: Once you have received your quotation OR if you are already a policy holder with us" Highlighted a key word for you there :D Edit: "Terms Of Entry. 1 entry per person. Adrian Flux underwriting criteria applies. Quote must be obtained via the telephone number listed or as arranged via PM, in April 2015. Once quote received OR if existing customer, a comment as mentioned in the competition terms must be left in the competition thread. The winner will be randomly selected from all entries on all participating forums and will need to supply details to locate quote/policy when requested. General terms can be found here: https://www.adrianfl...ac-standard.php"
  3. You can enter if you are an existing policy holder!
  4. Ooooh! My insurance is due for renewal in May so I'll no doubt get a quote
  5. McLaren Mercedes SLR for me... Love the sound that thing makes :D
  6. I'll stick with my Impreza, altho I do love the whine from a supercharger :D
  7. I've seen a few BRZ' kicking about... shame they don't have a turbo! I would imagine turbocharging one wouldn't be the hardest thing in the world to do :D
  8. It looked like a McLaren MP4-12C
  9. Battery tested perfect! Maybe because I was quite low on fuel? It was weird, my fuel gauge was nearly on the empty line, but for whatever reason my fuel warning light wasn't on (it has come on before) but I filled it up regardless... Possible it could be something to do with that?
  10. I've been looking at getting my wheels refurbed... previous owner didn't clean them all that well as they are kerbed and corroded... not overly bad, but a refurb wouldn't go a miss!
  11. Weird isn't it? If it was doing it maybe after I haven't used the car for a few days... then I wouldn't be surprised, but I've been using it all week and driving a minimum of 12 miles. I'll go to halfords during the week and get them to test the battery
  12. Then this morning, -1 degrees... had to scrape the ice off my car, started no problem!
  13. Haha! Yeh I know, this is a problem with me browsing the net when i'm at work... I always look at stuff I want!
  14. Yeh I'm def going to do it some point this year... priority is moving house, once I've done that, will start putting money aside for the work to get done, probably picking up parts as I go. Currently watching an STI up-pipe which will fit my blob and it does not have a cat. Then I'll probably get a race cat downpipe, get it all fitted then get the car mapped! Good to know about the up-pipe cat tho, my blob has only done 35k :D
  15. Wow, 272hp without changing any of the restrictive exhaust parts? That's quite impressive... I'll probably change the up-pipe at least, read a lot of stories online of the cats breaking up and sending bits into the turbo, then people say that if you're changing the up-pipe, you might as well change the down pipe since you have to remove the downpipe from the turbo to access the bolts that attach the up-pipe to the turbo!! I've learned all of this in the past couple of days since i barely work when i'm at work... love my job... :D
  16. I say sort of issue, because it has only happened twice in the 4 months I've owned the car... The first time it happened it was -5 so I purely put it down to the temperature, the engine is turning over and it sounds like it's almost catching and it took about 3-4 seconds for the engine to start, usually it's pretty much straight away. This was probably back in December, then tonight leaving work it did it again, only this time it was +5 degrees... I know not exactly roasty toasty, but didn't think it was cold enough to affect anything. Anything I could check relatively easily? Baring in mind by under-the-bonnet mechanic knowledge is pretty limited. No doubt it will be fine tomorrow morning when I leave for work :D
  17. +1 for removing the resonator. I have left the intake duct on and just left it open... had zero issues and it sounds great!
  18. I was about to post and say that I bought my impreza when the headlights were cloudy but manage to de-cloudify them with some abrasive solution and a buffing tool! Turned out great, but those headlights looks really smart!
  19. sorry, meant to link this: http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=24_53&products_id=1111 This should allow to keep the last cat in the system... I wouldn't be doing any of this work myself, I have no clue about getting under a car! If my impreza was a second car I would be willing to give it a go... but it's my only car and it's a daily runner!
  20. Yeh it looks like there is a cat in the up-pipe as well. So could put in a new up-pipe which will remove the cat, go with a normal down-pipe but possibly keep the cat after the downpipe (along with the race cat in the downpipe) to keep emissions in check? Or do you think a single race cat with a remap should get below emissions standards?
  21. Don't really want to go down the full decat route, don't know of any "would look the other way" MOT testers in my area... plus my neighbours think my car is already loud :D I was looking at this: http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=24_53&products_id=3396 Could i then keep my standard centre pipe or would it be best to replace that as well?
  22. Basically, my work gives me tons of free time because I sit next to a phone, just in case it rings... (don't worry, I'm not a 999 handler :P) So to pass the time, I look at stuff I want... mostly computer stuff but also Impreza stuff coz you know... it's an impreza! My only mods so far are: Pipercross panel filter (removed the airbox resonator also) New back box I am not looking to go down the mega power route... tbh, 225hp beats most things around my area anyway! So my first thought is a remap and it would be Andy Forrest I would use as they are quite close to me. Looking at the Andy Forrest website (I know there probably is a bloke called Andy Forrest, but I'll refer to them as a company...) and the stage 1 process is: Level 1 260-280 bhp Full Decat or Sportscat exhaust from turbo back 2.5 or 3” bore Ecutek Custom ECU recalibration (similar to PPP) Twin boost set up for high/low power switchable in-car Walbro 255 l/hr uprated fuel pump K+N panel filter Could I get away with remapping as is and probably not reach 260hp? I have looked at race cat downpipes n the such but wanting to keep expense down. Another thing is BOV, I know there is a lot of debate with these etc... but could i install one then get the car mapped so it 100% works with the car? I personally like the sound of them... I get a little noise after removing the airbox resonator but I want everyone else to hear it also :D I don't have plans to do this for a few months as I'm looking to move house... and the wife would kill me :D Any advice is always appreciated!
  23. To be fair, it's the first time I've ever installed a subwoofer!! I'll know for next time... :P
  24. Now that there is a coat hanger sticking through it, it's !Removed! obvious!! :D Thanks for the help!!
  25. Aye I did remove a lot of the carpet to have a good look... I may have to poke through the insulation... I'll go give it a bash and report back!
