Bored at work... Looking at mods... :D
Sandals replied to Sandals's topic in Subaru Engines, Exhausts and modifications
Don't really want to go down the full decat route, don't know of any "would look the other way" MOT testers in my area... plus my neighbours think my car is already loud :D I was looking at this: http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=24_53&products_id=3396 Could i then keep my standard centre pipe or would it be best to replace that as well? -
Fable Anniversary - 60% off code! (steam)
Sandals replied to Sandals's topic in Games/Console/Computer Nerd Room
Yeh Fable 3 was OK, not played the second as it only came out on 360... but the first is a classic! It's 26.99 on steam, so with the 60% off will make it around £11, considering the original Fable is £7, not a bad buy! -
Basically, my work gives me tons of free time because I sit next to a phone, just in case it rings... (don't worry, I'm not a 999 handler :P) So to pass the time, I look at stuff I want... mostly computer stuff but also Impreza stuff coz you know... it's an impreza! My only mods so far are: Pipercross panel filter (removed the airbox resonator also) New back box I am not looking to go down the mega power route... tbh, 225hp beats most things around my area anyway! So my first thought is a remap and it would be Andy Forrest I would use as they are quite close to me. Looking at the Andy Forrest website (I know there probably is a bloke called Andy Forrest, but I'll refer to them as a company...) and the stage 1 process is: Level 1 260-280 bhp Full Decat or Sportscat exhaust from turbo back 2.5 or 3” bore Ecutek Custom ECU recalibration (similar to PPP) Twin boost set up for high/low power switchable in-car Walbro 255 l/hr uprated fuel pump K+N panel filter Could I get away with remapping as is and probably not reach 260hp? I have looked at race cat downpipes n the such but wanting to keep expense down. Another thing is BOV, I know there is a lot of debate with these etc... but could i install one then get the car mapped so it 100% works with the car? I personally like the sound of them... I get a little noise after removing the airbox resonator but I want everyone else to hear it also :D I don't have plans to do this for a few months as I'm looking to move house... and the wife would kill me :D Any advice is always appreciated!

Fable Anniversary - 60% off code! (steam)
Sandals posted a topic in Games/Console/Computer Nerd Room
Hey guys, I have a 60% off Steam voucher for Fable Anniversary, the HD touch up of the original Fable game. I absolutely love this game, it's a fantasy RPG that's a bit tongue in cheek. I already have this game so anyone who wants this voucher, can have it! -
And now I have to wait until the 24th of March to play this on my PC... :(
-
going into top end pc gaming is best done with patience!! I bought my 7990 last December just as they were discontinued, picked it up for £350 which was a bargain price because at that time the crypto currency boom happened. If i wanted to, i could have sold the card straight away for a £200 profit, I didn't obviously :D Card still holds it's own today... limiting factor for it is VRAM, altho I am tempted to buy a 280x used for around £100 and have 3 way crossfire! Should be able to play FC4 maxed out at 1080p hopefully :D
-
I feel kinda bad recommending it now!! I quite enjoyed it.... not the best game i've ever played sure but I felt they really made the game like the original Alien film. Sorry to hear you hated it!
-
Probably not... it's incredibly rare for developers to make servers which can combine people from different platforms... which is a shame :(
-
I've picked up FC4 as well for PC, so will have time to play it before GTA V comes out for PC... (master race n all.... :P)
-
The 2nd level of Tomb Raider 2 had a lot of motorboats in them.........................................
-
Full size Lara Croft?? Her !Removed! would've taken up 90% of the room!! :D
-
Good stuff! Nvidia are more solid when it comes to drivers... and yet I changed to AMD......
-
AMD or Nvidia?
-
Updating graphics card drivers is always a good thing to do if a new game is causing crashes :D
-
I highly recommend Alien: Isolation. If you like atmospheric, stealth game in which you have to be stealthy otherwise you will be killed... it's very unnerving but in a very good way!
-
Result! I've pre-ordered off Amazon for £30... PC games generally don't hurt my wallet thankfully :D
-
Am I going to be the only chump waiting for the PC release....? I don't own an Xbone or a PS4, but I have considered the former purely because of the Master Chief collection... Don't think the wife will let me :D
-
I've held off as well, it's coming out for Xbone and PS4 this month but not until the end of January for PC :(
-
That's right, Rockstar have only just gone and done it again!! This is not a mod, they have fully implemented this for the Xbone, PS4 and PC versions. I'll let this video explain...
-
100% agree Gambit, I wish I didn't pre-order it!!

Firewall Grommets for power cable
Sandals replied to Sandals's topic in Subaru Audio / Electronics / Security
Aye I did remove a lot of the carpet to have a good look... I may have to poke through the insulation... I'll go give it a bash and report back! -
Firewall Grommets for power cable
Sandals replied to Sandals's topic in Subaru Audio / Electronics / Security
Thanks for the reply Scooby Pete!! I've had another look and I can see two grommets to the right (I'm standing at the front of the car looking in) of the brake servo. Only issue is I have no idea where that leads to in the drivers foot well, like I said I've looked in the drivers foot well and seen nothing, seems to have a layer of insulation before the metal so dunno if that's possibly hiding the hole. Would it be a good idea to remove the grommet from the engine bay and may put a coathanger through and see if/where it comes out of the footwell? This is something I've never done before :D -
Hey guys I decided to buy a subwoofer/amp combo off ebay (bargain vibe 12" slick at £30!) as I felt the speakers were a bit flat... sound OK since I've put a better head unit in but not enough bass for my liking! Anyway, onto the point of the thread... basically I'm confident in wiring it all up, looks like it will be easy to hide the wires etc... the only issue I have is running the power cable through the firewall to get to the battery. Now I have just spent the best part of an hour in my car, drivers and passenger side trying to fin a suitable place to run this cable but with no joy!! I can't find a single grommet on the drivers side. Passenger side seemed more promising... I stuffed my hand behind the glove box and found the main wiring bundle and a big grommet. So I removed the glove box easy enough only to encounter loads of other plastic looking stuff in the way which I opted not to touch! Looked inside the engine bay and found where the main wiring bundle comes out but I could not for the life of me remove the grommet! I think the wiring bundle is pretty taut so that could be why. Does anyone know if this is the best place to route the cable through? I imagine so as that is the side the battery is on... Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!!
