Hi all, It’s been a few years since I was forced to sell my 55 plate wrx. It was a great car and I was gutted to get rid of it. Since then I am now the proud owner of a 370z, which is great, but I just can’t get rid of the itch, so am looking at getting what I always wanted, a wrx sti. Looking at 15 plate, but would consider a slightly older previous model. Can anyone tell me which one is better, if at all? And why? Also is there anyone out there selling ? Thanks in advance Daren

Thanks for replying

Hi, I've been suffering boost issues, so with the help of a mate, had the intercooler off and found that the gearbox dipstick had been facing the wrong way, and had torn a hole in the y hose under the intercooler! Not as difficult a job as i had thought! I need to replace it obviously, any recommendations. I have found some cheap replacements for less than £40 on ebay, or some mishimoto ones for nearly £90. There are even more expensive ones elsewhere. Can anyone recommend a make, or even have a spare for sale. I don't want to pay out unnecessarily, although i am replacing the original Prodrive hose from the PPPack.

What have you done to your Subaru today ?

Had mine washed inside and out. Booked it in for a service. Ordered some quality oil from Opie oils, and ordered a small under seat sub to hopefully improve the music quality in the car. Also went for a drive and fuelled up. Still loving it! -
I couldn't agree more. Didn't like him before, can't stand him now! It was still an awesome 3 days. Only 728 days to go to the next one!

I'm also after a strut brace. 2004 impreza. Nice and cheap! sorry to piggy back your post! Obviously once brett is sorted!

Thanks everyone. As for DarrenWRX, i know. 40 years of having to tell everyone, all the time! However it's better than being called Elvis. That was the alternative! Thank you Dad.

Well, just having brought my wrx with PPP on it, on a 54 plate, i have to say i am extremely happy with it. I love it. Enough power, not too quick for the missus, not too loud for the missus, and drives really well. Mine is also the main family car. Having said all of that, i'm not sure that one day I'm going to wake up still wanting an STI. As standard i think they look better, and i know already that a 6th gear would come in handy, but i think you will be happy with either. If i had the extra money, i would probably have got an STI. Not having driven one yet though, i really am just basing it on what i've heard from others, and on looks.

Just drove it whilst smiling like a numpty! -
Well i'm glad i'm not the only one. No sky sports must be hell! And yes David it is mint!

I really like the front splitter. Looking to do the same on mine. I think it just improves the rounded front end!

Looks really good in those professional photos.

I imagine it's gonna be a very slow process. No money left after the purchase!. I think a project thread would probably be extremely dull with the lack of progress i make. What i will do however is post some pictures once i've made a change. cheers

I was just wondering if there are any other golf fans on here. I love it, and the Ryder cup is the best competition in golf. Hopefully i'm not the only one on here.

As a newbie i have found it very helpful to be able to post anywhere, including buying and selling. I will confess that i will not be one of the highest posters on here, as i am pretty limited in my knowledge of motors. however when i had my 3MPS and was on that forum, i had to pay to be able to post items for sale. I currently have several upgrade parts in my shed that would probably do somebody a job, and make me a few quid, but i don't want to have to pay £15 to be able to post them on their forum. I understand what everyone else has said, and i know all the single posters are annoying, so i can see it from both sides. So for me.......... i'm gonna sit on the fence!

Well i've finally got one. Absolutely loving it. It has the added bonus of the PPP. I just can't believe i waited so long to get one. I want new wheels for it as i personally don't like the ones on it. I have put them up for sale or swap in that forum. Here's a couple of pics. I don't want to do a lot to it. Maybe fog light covers and a front splitter, and the new wheels, and possibly a strut brace, and uprate the speakers, but not much else! Cheers

Hi, i have just bought my first scooby and really loving it. However i'm not a fan of the wheels that are on it. Hopefully you will prefer them! They are KEI RACING EVO wheels and they are 18" and are on my 2004 blob eye. They are in pretty good condition, but do have some marking on them. They have Nankang tyres on, which in my opinion are not that good, but they still have some life left in them. i would prefer to do some kind of swap deal. It can include money as well, either way. However i am willing to sell them, but obviously i will need to buy some new ones and get them on my car before they come off mine. I'm not sure what to put on mine. I've always been a fan of the BBS ch style wheel, but never had them before. So make me an offer. So swap including cash either way if needed. or normal sale for £250 Thanks for looking Daren

Hi guys. Just brought my first scooby. Loving it. Spent several hours on the phone getting quotes on several different cars. Even at 40, most quotes were over a grand! Unfortunately Adrian Flux proved to be very high also. I find they are very hit and miss! Had a good quote from A-plan insurance, who seem to have a very good specialist within their company somewhere. However i eventually went with Sky insurance. I spoke with sam, who came across as actually being bothered about what i was saying, and seemed to have knowledge and who made me believe he was genuinely trying to get me the best offer he could. Finally he came back with a quote of £560, and then to secure my business he waved the company fee of £60, and went back to the company and got my excess reduced from £350 to £250!. i would definitely recommend you at the very least give him a call when looking for your insurance. So to sum up, i've paid £500 with £250 xs on a WRX with PPP and a couple of extras. Fully comp, protected. Not a lot else got close.

Well went and tested 2, including the silver one. It was ok, but in all honesty it was a bit tatty! the second one i tested was in really good nick, has the PPP and most importantly drove superbly, especially on my journey home! Loved it, bought it. On the downside, i really don't like the wheels. All the bits are done, only has 56000 miles. Not too noisy, but has the lovely burble i was after. i couldn't be more pleased. Do you think anyone on here might be up for a swap, with or without cash? i'll get some pictures on here soon, and hopefully some nicer ones once i've changed the wheels!
-
Without a doubt, they are loads better

Nice one cheers

I appreciate your honesty. You don't pull any punches. I'd love a STI, but i really can't get one for the money i have. Also part exing my Beemer! i did try the one on ebay, as it is stunning, but he's not interested in part ex. Still gonna go and check out the original one. he's offered me decent money on my beemer, especially compared to other dealers! I've knocked a few hundred off over the phone, and i'll try and get some more tomorrow. Any other tips for me? Like an easy way to check the mapping!. If it turns out to be a dog, i won't be driving it home, thats for sure. Cheers and keep up the honest advice!

I think it has been remapped, but the seller doesn't know! He did however say it's quicker than any of the others he has brought, so he thought it had been!

I've put a deposit down on the scooby below. Hopefully picking it up on Thursday. Tell me what you think. Good, bad, overpriced waste of money. Good value? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201408276917319/usedcars?logcode=visc Cheers

Deposit is only small, and is refundable, so no brainer really. i think i have added the link below. If it has worked, take a look and let me know what you think. Also was this a members car at any point? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201408276917319/usedcars?logcode=visc
