  1. I may be wrong, .....but i don't think there is a gearbox dipstick on the STI ( if thats what you have ). I had a wrx hatch up to a fortnight ago, and that did have one, but i now have the STI model, and it certainly isn't where it was on my other car.
  2. Hi there, if it's any help I have recently put a cobra exhaust on my 59 plate wrx-s. Like you I just wanted a bit more noise but not silly, so went for the cat back resonated. I really love it, it now sounds like a scooby, but not a boy racer one ! If you have the window down you can enjoy it, but with them up you get very little noise difference than before. In my opinion an ideal compromise.
  3. Hi there, did you get this done ? I've inly just seen the post so could be a bit late, but I did mine through the arch liner. Removed some of the plastic clips holding it on, then get your hand up in behind. It is proper fiddly, but I've changed mine twice now this way.

  5. Hi there, I was wondering if anyone knows, or could advise on how I might find out, what sort of quantity of Impreza wrx-s hatchbacks were made. I keep reading they are a limited edition, but so far can't seem to find any info on how limited ! Thanks in advance for any help.

  7. Hi, no doubt this could have been covered before, but I can't seem to find it ! The rear windows on my 59 plate WRX ( hatchback), are really slow going up from fully open, are there any guides as to how to lubricate them, or could anyone advise me please. Thanks in advance.
  8. Thanks for the reply, you have confirmed what I thought there. Could be an idea about the fuel pump, I'm not planning on too many mods, but you never know !!
  9. Just a quick question. I'm thinking of putting a stainless cat back system on my 2009 WRX-S. It's going to be a resonated one as I don't want it really loud. Only other mod is a pro R air filter. Would I need to get the ecu re-mapped, or would it be ok. I'd like to get it mapped some time in the future, but wanted to do the exhaust sooner if it doesn't affect it much. Any thoughts or experiences welcome.
  10. I know exactly what you mean, mine was a right s**t to get out. In the end it just came down to pretty much breaking it off, I came to the conclusion that seeing it was broken anyway it wouldn't matter, so it was a combination of pulling and twisting until it let go. I'm sure that if the bumper was off, and you could get at it properly it would come off easy, but that seems like a right hassle ! Just be careful of the wires obviously, as they aren't overly long, and a word of warning, mine was as hard to detach the wiring connecter as it was to release the sensor, mainly due to access, but with a bit of patience you can do it ! I think it took me about an hour and a half all told. ( an hour and twenty nine getting it off, one minute to put the new one on !! )
  11. Hi there, did you get your temp sensor sorted ? Just letting you know I changed mine on my WRX-s the other day. I did it buy squeezing my hands through the lower grill. It was a frustrating fiddle, with a certain amount of skin loss, but definitely do-able.

  13. Thanks for your thoughts, that's what I'm hoping. I just wasnt sure why it is so noticeable when I change gear. I'm no mechanic, so I couldn't figure in my head what the air would do when you let off the accelerator/ dip the clutch, if you see what I mean.
  14. Hi, looking for some opinions/advice if possible. I have just fitted a Pro-R panel filter to my 59 plate WRX. The car is standard in all other ways. I fitted it myself which was a simple I thought, everything went in and out as it should. When I took it out afterwards, I noticed a noise, which I can only describe as similar to a very quite dump valve type of sound, with a bit of a hiss/whoosh sound when changing gear. I've checked under the bonnet with it running and there doesn't seem to be any air leaks, and it doesn't make the noise if I blip the throttle when stationary. So.... Is this just an induction noise due the the less restricted filter ? Has anyone else experienced it ? I do like the sound, but just not sure if it should do it !!! Thanks in advance for your help.
  15. Can anyone help please. I have a 2009 wrxs hatchback, over the last week the battery light stays on when starting from cold ( only after being left overnight etc). If I turn the car off and restart it goes off, and doesn't come back on until it's been left for a long time ( overnight ). The battery is good, it starts alright, and it charges when the light isn't on. Its just odd that it just stays on after the first cold sart up, each time !! Any help appreciated.
