  1. My garage are struggling to resolve a suspected misfire, it is only evident at steady speeds. I don't notice it driving around the country lanes, but on dual carriageways and (the now dreaded ) motorways it is gradually getting worse. No engine lights shown. THere was one which was an O2 sensor, this was replaced, diagnostics cleared down and yet the splutter remains. First noticed after I had new tire fitted and I wondered if somehow the 'bespoke' flange that was welded on exhaust system had been knocked somehow --- this has been ruled out, but seems like a strange coincidence? Any suggestions WHATSOEVER very gratefully received (as I prepare to face the M1 and M25 once more)
  2. Thank you so much for this information guys. I'm not up to the job of carrying out any further works, but I shall go to the local dealer armed to the teeth with this information and let you know the outcome. Cheers Liz
  3. Hi I recently posted on here about my dash board failure, which is an intermittent fault, as I drive along sometimes the clock decides its 1am, the rev counter and speedo stop and the fuel guague goes to full and it all gets a bit spooky. Has been to a garage in the past but still playing up (not a water issue) The car had this problem before I owned it so they are not linked. My brother suggested a reflux???? Anyway I also have an engine light on, someone on here suggested an O BDII from e bay - which I duly did, and insight on any of the codes below? Cheers :) Liz P0051 H02s Heater control circuit low bank 2 sensor 1 P0643 Fuel level sensor A circuit high P1135 manufacturers control ??
  4. Thanks for all the advice and info folks, the dashboard is working again today - which is obviously a longterm gremlin. So the VDC off light has returned! I am in Faversham Greenmamba.
  5. Thanks for that, at least I have a vague idea what the garage should be looking at :)
  6. I have an outback legend auto 3 litre h6 2002(does that sound right? Now exhausted technical knowledge ) i inherited her early with a known fault that dads local garage couldn't resolve. ...although ive seen it on many forums. Basically the speedo and rev counter stop working. Fuel guague shows full and clock picks a random time to display. I have had her a month and she hasn't played up but tonight this happened after two days of a check engine light plus vdc off light (which was why i joined the soc today) I dont think they are linked as havent occurred together before but has anyone else solved the dashboard histrionics? Do i need to go diagnostics re the vdc light or can i really just disconnect the battery for twenty minutes and drive around in blissful ignorance (similar to current state). Any advice gratefully received and hopefully understood. I am near a subaru garage in ashford but also have a friendly local guy who doesnt rip me off who has a diagnostic bloke that he works with. Many thanks liz
