Sounds like it's quite easy to do then. I did look at the under seat ones but was recommended the Alpine Swe 815. Works out at the same price but supposedly sounds a lot better due to the enclosure. I'm eyeing a cheap used one on eBay ATM so if I don't like it there isn't anything lost really.

Been thinking about getting a small sub to stick in the boot of my wagon just to take some of the bass load off the speakers and help reduce the distortion. Just wondering how much of a pain it is to route all the wires needed, and how to get the power wires through the firewall. Just wanted to find out before rushing into buying a sub.

I got some more LED lamps from halfords today, a lot brighter than what i took out. have a feeling the ones in there were meant for interior use only looking at them. As long as these last then I'll be happy with them.
-
looking at getting some new bulbs for my sidelights as the current LED ones are rubbish and one has decided to give out all together. would it be worth going for another LED set or just get some cheap halfords ones.

Was a great weekend, apart from all the traffic on the way home and the fact i suspect i caught something there. Been feeling crap all week. But i will be keeping my eye out for the next meet i can make it to.
-
I already booked a hotel so though I would make an effort. If it gets stupid wet then I dont plan on staying long.
-
I'm here and parked up near the entrance to general camping. Anyone else coming down today?
-
Car is back from the bodyshop and looks good, given her a quick wash and changed the wheels over today as well. Also fully packed ready to go in the morning. Seems to be going to smoothly at the moment.

Definitely cutting it close. She has had all the repair work done to her but they are waiting on some "Subaru Specific" Rivets for the bumper that are supposedly coming tomorrow. Got to pick her up after work, change the wheels, pack a bag for the weekend, load up some parts i have sold and then possibly wash her as well.
-
Got my tickets yesterday Hopefully I'll get my car back tomorrow from the body shop. Driving round in a Toyota Aygo at the moment which is just awful. At least she will look good for the weekend.
-
Took a few months for mine to get booked in as the garage was waiting on parts. But the work only took about 40 minutes. I think its all recorded on a database as they checked if mine had been done i think.

Not sure i like the sound of this.
-
Same here for me so you are not alone.
-
Done! I might go down on Saturday as well but not sure yet. Plus my "Crash" damage is getting fixed on the 26th so she will be looking good for the weekend.
-
I had a "Rising sun JDM Plaster" sticker that would have been perfect for this, but i used that somewhere else a few days ago. Might have to pick up another,

Yeah, it was the Monday to end all Monday's for me. The body shop did say they will try and get it done before the 1st but it all depends on the insurance company and how quick they approve the quote. It cracked the bumper and has scratched the paint as well, so not massively noticeable but something i would like repaired. If worse comes to worse I'll see if i can hold off the repair till after the 2nd.
-
I used the old shims in the end as they looked ok. I can report most the squealing has gone, just a little bit while braking every now and then. But hopefully that will fade away as the pads bed in. Not sure if the new disk were needed but the old ones were definitely used well.
-
I'm still hoping to bring my scoob with me, But someone drove into the back of me on Monday so that needs repairing Luckily she is still driveable and damage is minimal but i'm just hoping the repair date doesn't clash as i have been told 3-4 weeks. If it does then I'll be coming up in a hire car by the looks of it.
-
Nah, I've just got standard one pot calipers. Nothing as nice as the 4 pots. Just need to know if the shims are needed or not.
-
Ok, stupid question time. So i ordered some new Pagid disks and pads from Euro car parts in the bank holiday sale (£85 in total was too good to pass up) and they arrived today. Opened the pads just to check they are correct and there are no metal shims included. Does this mean the pads don't require the shims or are they something you get separately?

I'm interested in coming, be funny to see how well the 103Hp 1.5L i have runs the 1/4 if i decide to go for the RWYB. I'm a newby to car shows so how does it work with getting in with a club ECT, Mines no where near a show car but would be fun to come along with some other scoobs. Hoping to get some new rims by this though so she should look better.

Never had to wind back pistons before, what would be considered a "Normal" force to wind them back in? Everything looked ok when cleaning and greasing it all but i'll have a closer look when i get a chance.
-
They are the same ones as yours, Single piston caliper that bolts to the guide pins. The pins feel tight but are not seized, they have been lubed well to try and sort this out.. And its not the wear indicator as these pads are so cheap they don't have one. Might just be the pads, i know some pads just do this. But check everything is clean and then lubed up first (back of the pads, Shims, and caliper contact areas) as this should stop that from happening. (Unless your car wants to be as awkward as mine is being)

They are old pads that have just started this, they were on the car when i brought it and i have done at least 5,000 miles with it since. Could be possible, it only seems to happen after driving for a while, when setting off from cold it is fine. What would be the best way to check this. Want to try and get to the bottom of this before I start dropping money on parts that i don't need.
