  1. Nope they said they can't communicate with it?? engine tuner?? Who and where are they?
  2. Hi all i have a 2005 wrx, prodrive exhaust (I guess just back box)' cosworth air filter, no other engine mods. I've had 2 separate people try and remap the car for me, but both have had problems communicating with the ecu? The last garage is trying to contact people in Italy about it, but is this a common problem? Has anyone had this before? Is there a solution? many thanks jeff
  3. 2005 wrx prodrive exhaust. No mods yet west dorset
  4. Doh! I feel stupid now. Can I please delete this post lol just went out to check the car. All if fine and normal, but the fan was on with ignition on, engine not running. Scratches head, AC was on so switched it of and fan stopped. Put ac back on and fan started. Think i found what it was lol
  5. Hi all, now I've only had my 2005 wrx for a couple weeks now, and the last couple of days I've noticed the electric fan is kicking in very soon after starting. I'm guess this is because of the hot weather, so the water is at temp before turning the key, would this sound about right? Temp gauge is normal, when it gets to temp it just stays there. Everything under bonnet seems normal. Or could it be a faulty sensor? many thanks
  6. That's great advice. Cheers
  7. It's a 2005 wrx, used daily, but not far. And as it new a bit of a drive most nights. I'm sure that will change (hope not lol).
  8. Lol cheers. any recommendations for what oil is best to use? thanks for all the advice. Just want to keep this car running good.
  9. Excellent on the oil change. One I can do my self. Haven't looked yet at it yet, but does the oil filter have to be put back with a certain torque?
  10. And any suggestion where I can get parts? air filter up pipe d cat etc
  11. Sorry but is an oil change every 3000 miles a bit excessive? And would that mean the oil filer too?
  12. Thanks for that tidgy. Going out looking for a fuel station close to home later that sell it.
  13. Quick question, what petrol should I be using? My local places don't seem to have super unleaded anymore?
  14. That's handy to know. Mum in west Dorset, what bits do you have? TBH having driven it around my usual roads, I find it fast enough. I think I would only like to do the bear minimum. I'll change the air filter. Is it worth while just doing that then a remap?
  15. Well he she is :-)
  16. Thanks for advice. im now the pride owner of a 2005 wrx. Very happy. Drive and looks like new.
  17. Is that all you done? Did you change the up cat? What you've done is all I would like to do really, and you got that much extra power? I didn't really want to change fuel pump either, but is that advisable? Since only small amount of mods?
  18. That's good the hear. HPI check clear. So good new on that front. Will let you know if I get it and then what to do??
  19. Thanks. Hopefully this one on Sunday is the one. Low mileage and looks like it will disappear in the crowd lol
  20. Hi guys, I was on another forum, and I got some good advice, but also got some abuse from people. So I guy on there recommended this site ( hi Logan). im in the market for a wrx, it will be my first one, but I have had an Impreza before. 2000 2.0 sport wagon. Ever since I've loved them, so why not go for a wrx now I have a bit of cash. my budget is £6-£7k. I originally was looking at the hawkeye, but was advised they have some engine issues. Is this correct? So much now looking at the blobeye. Around 2005 model. I wanted as new as I could get. on Sunday I'm looking at a 2005 wrx. It's had the brakes, shocks and clutch updated. And it has the prodrive exhaust and prodrive silicone hoses, but not the sport cat. Also it's only 50,000 mile. It's got to be worth a look imo. What do I like? I'm not into the sti as I'm no long a boy racer (44) and the spoiler puts me of them. So I like spec d models. I would like the car to just blend in, but have a bit of punch, if I need it. if I was to get the car above, what extra mods should I do? I'm not looking at getting it to 500 bhp, just sometime a bit more that standard. I was thinking about either 1. Change air filter, then re map or 2. De cat up pipe, de car centre section, change air filter then remap. tbh I don't really want to mess with it too much (money and effort) could I just do 1? Or is that just not enough? many thanks jeff
